KSATV2 confirm: "you can use MOVE for browsing"

KsaTv2 just confirm that you can use MOVE for browsing the xmb
and even the internet and in the next ps3 firmware update
the console will fully support move.

ruiner44825076d ago

Not to this guy!!! LOLOLOLOL

This is obviously fake, not the MOve itself but using the Move - I bet there's a guy with a DualShock 3 moving it as he moves it.

Legosz5076d ago

I can't wait to use my Move on my flawed and crappy PS3 browser! /sarcasm

I love my PS3, but the browser needs some work, seriously.

PCnPS3Gamer5076d ago

just be happy you have a browser at all get a pc for browsing you fuck tard ps3 is for games and blu ray movies anyways the browser was extra....or you could get a 360 slim and go on the browser it has ohhhh wait

Pink_Uni5076d ago (Edited 5076d ago )

did you even watch the video?

if you actually had a ps3 u would know that you cant move the xmb that fast, its tracking way too precisely to be someone mimicking his movements.

you're just mad because its a arabian guy showing it off.

its obviously a real demo

BISHOP-BRASIL5076d ago (Edited 5076d ago )

@Pink_Uni

Try your PS3 with a mouse, any USB mouse will do the wowk... It's about the same I see here, and I'm posting from my PS3.

EDIT: I'm not saying it's fake and someone is controlling it with a mouse, but that looks like pointer function is probably as precise as a mouse.

And fake or not, Move WILL controle XMB and broweser... You can do it with any mouse, keyboard or gamepad that has a USB or bluetooth connection, why wouldn't you be able to do it with a PS branded controller, be it a wand or not? It would be stupid from Sony to have you capable of turn on your PS3 with a Move wand but not able to navigate with it and have to turn on a dual shock.

ryuzu5076d ago

Well it would be obvious in the normal run of things but we've had two major motion control solutions demo'd recently and Kinect it turns out doesn't do many of the "obvious" things you'd expect - it seems it can't be demo'd live on stage, it has lag and can't be used sitting down....

Given that list of "obvious" things Kinect should be able to do, I'm wary of all the "obvious" things that PS Move should do but doesn't. So far so good for Move I guess....

xino5076d ago

during the Sony press meeting, that Anton guy demonstrated the MOVE and Hip Hop G camera man recorded Anton using the MOVE to navigate the XBM.

vhero5076d ago

Cool idea shame Sony didn't show it off but obviously we wouldn't want the fanboys screaming "copycat" would we?

beardpapa5076d ago

you know what Sony needs? A real Move game with good & real animation, and little pre-canned gesture scripted animation sequences. A wolverine game with two move controllers, one for each of the claws.

Oh yes and an RTS. Come on blizzard/activision/sony. Make it happen.

BubZ-SkullY5076d ago

@pink_uni

i think ruiner was quoting what someone else said, read it properly

ruiner44825076d ago

lolwut? Learn to read... that wasn't my comment but some genius on youtube. Now admit that you were wrong, and get butthurt about things a little to easily.

I see an app for the PSeye itself, but why having people choose between two types of physical controllers for a UI?

shadow27975076d ago

People who like using a mouse when they browse the internet. Move is far more intuitive for this kind of thing.

eggbert5076d ago

to use on the PS3. lulz.

raztad5076d ago (Edited 5076d ago )

@eggbert

That might be true but kinda inconvenient, still an option though. I like the idea of browsing with MOVE, sounds intuiti\ve as shadow says and faster.

theIMP5076d ago

I agree with egg. I mean you can use a controller to navigate, or you could use.....................wait for it...........a different controller. To be honest I don't see the appeal, but to each their own.

CellularDivision5076d ago

People still browse the internet with PS3? haha oh wow.

LtSkittles5076d ago

People still browse the internet on the 36.. oh wait.
@Cd If I don't have a computer then yeah, I would use it, because I can watch Youtube, and watch other stuff too without having to use a computer.

Sheikh Yerbouti5076d ago

Without a PC for three weeks...? My PS3 held me down.

Redempteur5076d ago

it's just another option should you use move or a keyboard , or a move so simply the dualshock 3 ..well it works ( MOVE ) as a controller SIMPLE AS THAT

Kung Fu Live is a great game for PSEye. I expected Sony to showcase it at E3 to "steal Kinect's thunder" as HHG would say, but they didn't.

I think choice is good. I would like to try out the Move, before committing to buy a FPS on it. But I immediately saw Move integration coming for Heavy Rain when I played the demo. That is going to be my launch Move game. But for other games, it is going to be great having a choice.

I don't see myself using it for racing games at all, but everything else is fair game. Keep an open mind and it get blow away.

ryuzu5076d ago (Edited 5076d ago )

Why not have options?

Would you prefer it if MS said no controls other than specific games with Kinect? ....Ok, well they basically have said that, so bad example.

But even so, the browsing on Wii was pretty nice and smooth and more intuitive to non DualShock users so I can see why the option is nice.

Briefcase Joe5076d ago

So you are going to grab a DS3 if someone messages you while you are playing a Move game? I'd rather hit the PS button and use the Move to navigate. I guess you could use the Navigation controller too if you wanted.

BubZ-SkullY5076d ago

@godmars290

its just for when you just fin using your move, or about to, instead of switching back to the ds3, jus use the move...simples

Hey I would like this. This is what I wanted. It makes using MOVE-ing through the xmb and internet a little more fluent.

Microsoft had a good idea but fumbled it again.

Cacabunga2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Project Spark idea was decent but they quickly gave up ..
LBP was wonderful

ApocalypseShadow3d ago

Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.
https://www.playstationlife...

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.

They're scum.

Zachmo1822d ago

Microsoft didn't force MLB on Xbox. MLB gave Sony 2 options either go multiplat or risk losing the license.

Rynxie1d 23h ago

And why do you think MLB said that? I believe Ms approached MLB.

ApocalypseShadow1d 22h ago (Edited 1d 22h ago )

Totally ridiculous comment.

The only exclusivity Sony had was to their own creation of The Show. Microsoft could have paid the MLB for the license just like Sony did and made their own baseball game.

Microsoft instead, groomed MLB for years in trying to poach Sony's game and bring it to Xbox. They're worth 3 TRILLION dollars. You think that's not enough money to make their own baseball game? Don't be delusional.

Microsoft spun it like they always do and told the media that they had to trust Sony with their hardware. After they put Sony in that position of not having a choice. Either go multiplatform or stop making one of their successful games. That's a no win scenario.

And what did Microsoft do? They didn't try to sell the game to the Xbox community. They put it on game pass to hurt Sony. Pushing the idea of why buy games that are $70 when you can play them in their cheap service for $10. It was a dirty tactic.

You fell for the Kool aid drink Microsoft served you instead of spitting it out. Hope it tasted good because you were fooled by Phil and the gang.

Xbox executive Sara Bond has told Axios that Microsoft spent a number of years trying to get MLB The Show onto Xbox consoles. And when it finally succeeded in breaking off PlayStation’s long-held exclusivity, the company had to “trust” Sony with pre-release Xbox Series X/S consoles.

Bond revealed that MLB The Show “always came up” in conversations between Microsoft and the Major League Baseball organization. “We always said, ‘We love this game. It would be a huge opportunity to bring it to Xbox.'” she recalled. However, when Microsoft’s efforts materialized, it put the company in an awkward situation where it had to send in pre-release consoles to a rival company.

Lying to yourself is unbecoming.

Article link tells you all you need to know in Sarah Bond's own words.

Hereandthere1d 13h ago

They were too cheap/inept/lazy to develop their own mlb game, so they port begged for years and bribed the mlb to make the show multiplatform. Like i said many times, xbox brought nothing to the table their 24 years, ZERO.

ApocalypseShadow1d ago

At least you and others get it. Note drank the Kool aid and asked for seconds thinking it was refreshing.

Most don't even know how it all played out but it's there in black and white for all to see. Microsoft brought it up for years until the MLB forced Sony's hand. It was a win win for Microsoft. Kill one reason to buy a PlayStation or kill the game by dropping it in a cheap service to kill Sony's sales numbers on PlayStation.

OtterX2d ago

"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."

Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.

Cockney18h ago

They chose well, Sony gave them the backing to pursue their dreams with no restrictions even tho their games especially dreams have very niche appeal. Media molecule and Sony deserve respect for this in an age of risk averse publishing.

RNTody2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.

But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?

Inverno2d ago

Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.

Inverno2d ago

They shut down the servers, that's millions of user created levels gone. That and dead are pretty much the same, it's also been years since 3 and they cancelled HUB soooo.

1d 17h ago
fsfsxii1d 19h ago

They shutdown the servers because no one was playing, no one in the community cared about the user created levels so why keep them up? Wtf you guys would never succeed in running a business.

Inverno1d 17h ago

Yea dood no one was playing so they shut off the servers. Cause people with enough common sense can't just Google why they were actually shut of, right?
