Could the Gyro Sensor Be the Achilles Heel of the 3DS?

The 3DS was great, no bones about it. Most folks playing were left with a small, choice vocabulary that consisted of "Wow" and "Amazing."

But there's a problematic issue on the horizon. Announced during the Nintendo Press conference was the addition of a gyro sensor in the 3DS' hardware. Fair enough, it's another version of motion control making waves in gameplay design.

The potential problem comes from the 3D display itself.

What if they made it so that the the screen always stayed in a single position, independent from the rest of the device. Like... how the hell do I describe this? Like how a compose always points North.

"Scientists we ain't"... Yet!

am i going to be able to lay on my back and play?
do i have to sit u and play?
where in the world is Carmen San Diego?

these are all very important question!!!

I trust Nintendo with everything I put high regards to anything they do.

I know for a fact that they are working for a fix that everyone finds problematic. for one they wouldn't put sensors in the ds if it wouldn't work.
Just sit back and trust them. lol have they ever gone wrong with a handheld?

my interpretation is as long as you are looking at the screen if the images shift with the system they will still be displaying 3D to your eyes.

thats so crazy haha.

it will never disappear.

darksky10d ago

The more they try to stop it, the more publicity it gets. The fact is that Yuzu will forever live on torrent and other sites. Nintendo is fighting an uphill battle.

Inverno10d ago

Another 8,500 will take their place. Smh

PRIMORDUS10d ago

There is nothing stopping these people from working on Yuzu clones and sharing them on torrent sites. Nintendo or anyone else cannot do shit about torrents or usenet.

lucasnooker10d ago

lol Nintendo keep fighting this but it never ends. Why do they feel the need to persist? I guess they are in too deep now they have to

Super Mario 64 DS: Remakes Done Right

Super Mario 64 DS was offered as a launch title for the Nintendo DS, a remake of the classic platform game with a few original tricks.

Not with those D-pad controls

CDbiggen12d ago

Needs more appreciation. I never had an N64 so this was what I played. Sure the Yoshi hat mechanic at first is a slog but you unlock Mario and the others for real and then it takes off. Personally I never had an issue with the controls. Can't forget the mini games and the 4 player rumble over download play.

kevco3312d ago

Indeed, as stated in the article there were tonnes of control options and very much a 'take whatever you like, leave the rest' attitude to most of the game's extras.

Space opera fans deserve a chance to experience the vastness of Infinite Space, and Sega needs to make up for its mistake.

I still go back to Infinite Space from time to time. Probably the most underrated game I ever played.

Felt like I was the only person who bought and played this lol
