Believe it: 3D Gaming is Great

From DAMNLAG:

"You can all stop trying to be the cool guy on discussion boards: 3D gaming works.

I went into this year’s E3 (my first E3, mind you) just as skeptical as the rest of you. 3D movies give me headaches, 3D TVs are ridiculously expensive, and having to wear 3D glasses all the time makes me feel stupid."

I have my doubts, but a lot of positive feedback has been coming in.

Ah good to be back in n4g...

OT: Ill have to rely on people who experiencede 3D gaming before giving a judgement. I feel that 3D gaming has tons of potential and is a great way for immersion in a game. One of the flaws would be the very high price to obtain this technology..

3D cameras to take or make 3D pictures and movies, to be played on any sort of 3D screen.

Imagine hanging up 3D photos on your bedroom wall.

Capture historic moments in 3D!

3D video chat on your cellphones/computers/consoles.

Etc

I played Unreal Tournament 2003 a long time ago in 3D on the PC. And that was with glasses and an old 17 inch CRT monitor. I can say that even back then the Nvidia tech was amazing. I landed my jumps better, I didn't get stuck on objects/door frames as much. It just makes playing FPSers that much better by giving you a better sense of depth. I can't wait to see how well this new tech works!!!

IMHO
3D + games
3D + sports TV

is a no-brainer. It will be way better than "2D" and no one will want to go back.
They will have to take the stupid headgear out of the equation though, before I join the crowd.

I'm going to go against 3D until I see it in my hands.

Valay5090d ago

I'm actually very excited for 3D gaming.

Tommykrem5090d ago

I need to find out how 3D works on a 32" TV! And until I find out, I'm not bying anything! (I hear it's very good though)

ALFAxD_CENTAURO5090d ago

I've only seen 40'' or bigger 3DTV in the Market.

Probably they will release a 32'' later.

RememberThe3575090d ago

It's new so not everybody is going to embrace it. But the more available it gets the more accepted it will be.

...New technologies makes for a much improved experience

when every brand start making only 3D tvs that's when it may take off depending on devs, that will be needed to push it.

maddhatter1235090d ago

yeah it might not be new but it it is making a big come back. just about every movie is 3d including the biggest movie in history avatar, there are lots of games now adding 3D and all the ads i see about tvs are 3D tv ads now. 3D is the future people just have to accept that or be left behind.

It's an outstanding game and so was The Old Blood. Also a lost era of gaming. Interesting, I received a physical copy of The Old Blood 9 years ago today from Poland. It was digital only in North America initially upon release so I had to import.
