Wish they would change their mind and add in babality, animality and friendships, that would make this game PERFECT since they are going back to the old school feel.

#1 announcement of E3 for me this year, can't wait to get the game.

As long as it has at least 2 fatalities for each character, I'm satisfied...
But sh1t this looks so awesome!!! back to 2d fighting! yeah man! Fan service indeed!
and from the demo, I can tell this is gonna take some serious skills and practice to master everyones combos!

When is it coming out, I've been waiting for a game like this...

F$$$ yea, I'm going to spank people all over the world on my new xbox slim and mortal combat in 3d.

Anyone else feel this seems like a better fit for like PSN or XBL? I'd buy it and many more games if they were downloadable. Streetfighter 4 for instance. I want it but feel it would be a better downloadable game. Oh well, there is always next gen.

We'll see. Just lay off the crack first.

I actually think this could be the best Mortal Kombat so far. It looks good.

Falloutxii5074d ago

so is this just a straight up fighter like Mortal Kombat 2 or does it have some sort of story/konquest mode?

Kal11385074d ago (Edited 5074d ago )

It has a story mode. I fact, it will have the "deepest story mode of any fighting game".

Spoilers for the new game, I guess...

It takes place after MK: Armageddon. Shao Kahn is about to kill Raiden when he (Raiden) sends a message to his earlier self and so we rewind back to MK 1. Raiden doesn't really understand what's going on, but he knows something bad will happen. The game takes place during MK 1, 2 and 3 and Raiden is changing the course of things. They said that some things will be different. Obviously, since Raiden now knows some stuff about the future.

My favorite is always going to be Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. I know some people didn't like the addition of the run button. But, man that game is burned into my memory from childhood, lol.

That's the one I played the most as a kid. Fun times gaming on my Sega Genesis, the memories

Deception, MK2, MK9, MKX ..rest.

MK2 will always be the best in the series. Been playing a lot of MK1 lately though. Definitely enjoying it more than any other NRS era MK game.

Tankbusta40181d ago

1 and 2 were cultural phenomenon's.

I will always have a special place in my memory for MK 1 and 2. You had to be there during that era at the arcades. Martial arts tournament fighting movies were still popular, and MK 1 was exciting. Real life motion captured characters done well (unlike Pit Fighter). A cast of characters we all liked like Bruce Lee(Lui Kang), Van Damme(Johnny Cage), the Lightning god(Raiden) from Big Trouble in Little China, and Ninjas, gotta have Ninjas. Goro was menacing as hell. The MK arcade had some of the best speakers similar to Killer Instinct as you could hear the loud crisp and bassy sound that was distinctly different than other arcades. MK 2 improved greatly on the controls and fighting mechanics
