New MGS: Rising Story Details Announced; Takes Place Between MGS2 & MGS4

During Konami’s press conference, new details on Metal Gear Solid: Rising, the newest title in the long-standing Metal Gear Solid line, were released, and it has wowed the whole Konami E3 press conference crowd. The details, which have been just unveiled, including the just shown trailer, explores Zan Datsu which is the concept.

They said it's going to have a stealth system as well as lightening fast action that will have a sword play out the way guns did in mgs4.

Raiden has always been a hella interesting character and now we'll see why and just how insanely great he is to control.

Raiden was a cyborg ninja in MGS4. When the game was announced his face was shown so it was pretty obvious to people who played MGS4 that Rising would fill the gap between 2 and 4. It could possibly include how Raiden became a cyborg ninja.

It is pretty obvious but it is Hideo so I wouldn't have been surprised if it were Grey Fox or Sunny (as some of the rumour suggested even though it sounds dumb)

This is a no brainer, it has no choice but to be between those two. I hope the story is good, the gameplay is deep just as MGS series has always offered and please let Kojima touch the game.

Metal Gear Solid 3 is very far form 2 and 4 even the name dosent go scince there is no Meatal Gear, its Naked Snake not Solid, and its not 3 scince its before all of them LOL

I hope its like Peace Walker, as in flesh out the character without trying directly into the Patriots story arc. We know how that ends, and where Raiden ends up. Do something tangential!

I personally don't like seeing how a series ENDS, then they fill in little bits here and there later. Make me a real sequel! Or do a new universe like Acid did! Imagine if Snake and Liquid were teammates!

Well, that was obvious that the game would take place between MGS2 and 4, otherwise, Raiden wouldn't wear his cyber-ninja suit

I'm kinda glad it's Raiden again (or maybe Grey Fox? Have they even said?) As much as I like Snake, it feels like his time is over and he went out with a bang, there's no real reason to bring him back again.

I think MGS5 PS3 exclusive will be in development after Rising and will close out the PS3's generation before or shortly after the launch of the PS4. Kojima has probably began working on it already.

I don't think he was even really working on this title so i'm sure he's been working on something since MGS4. I was actually hoping i'd see something from Kojima this E3. Maybe TGS.

If it's not directed by Kojima then the story is irrelevant to begin with. This won't be canon so there is no point in trying to hype up a fanfic.

No it was said that it took place after mgs3 and it told the story of how raiden saved the girl (forgot her name think it is sunny) from the patriots.

I am glad they cleared that out. Stealth + Speed = Ninja type of stealth which is the basic concept of stealth! Hopefully it turns out amazing!
