Prince of Persia is a series set in the exotic Arabian desert. It was a shock that Hollywood would decide to cast a white actor as the Prince in the film adaptation. Does this stem from years of white-washing in the video game series? What's really at play here? Is it racism? Fear? G4tv examines this trend in the series.
Video games have given us some truly awesome characters over the years. Mario, Mega Man, Cloud Strife, Sonic the Hedgehog, the list could just keep going and going. With that being said, many of these protagonists are carried by great supporting casts. The Nerd Stash take's a look at ten characters who we believe should have their own games. A few ground rules before we start, the characters in question can not have already starred in their own titles and only one entry per franchise.
Prince of Persia voice actor's tweet suggests new game is in development and that an announcement could be coming to E3.
Throughout the decades of gaming history, there have been many established franchises that have now laid dormant for years. So check out some Gaming Franchises we would like to see return in the near future!
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System!
We've got a Trilogy to finish making, damn it!T_T
hmm...maybe it was cause he is a decent actor and maybe kinda looks like the character? nah, that cant be it...it obviously has to do with white-washing or even racial discrimination /s
i highly doubt this has anything to do with the sort...if i was a director or whatever, i would prolly cast him as well and mainly because it looks the part...i wouldnt care about the race, unless it was for a character that has only been described in books, but not actually drawn out or seen visually
interesting read,
Hollywood...'nuff said
is this why there's so much commotion over the next spidey being black?
I'll admit, what they are doing to Avatar is pretty screwed up. Don't go changing shit that isn't original. I'm sure we wouldn't have wanted a black Goku in that Dragonball movie...hell, we didn't even want that movie. So don't go making an asian character Indian.
