Yeah I think they're arguing that the covers don't like like a traditional 8-bit game, when in reality 8-bit refers in simple terms to the amount of colors used (8-bit = 256 colors).

Using that definition these covers are definitely 8-bit.

Why has the artist used 'in game' graphics art for the front covers? It just looks silly. This becomes most apparent in the mario kart artwork. Why on earth would you have a screen shot of the game as the front cover art? You wouldn't.

It would have been better if the covers were illustrated the 'old fashioned' way. Just because it was the 80s didn't mean people drew in blocks too, there were really beautiful cover art, not this pixilated rubbish.

Also it would make more sense if more current nintendo titles were made 8 bit, or at least games that are on nintendo consoles, like sin and punishment 2 or muramasa. Not killzone!

Maybe all ps3/360 owners really dream and fantasize about their games being on a nintendo console?
