PlayStation Move Behind Gran Turismo 5 Delay?

Having let slip themselves that the game will support the PlayStation Move peripheral, it seems Sony's decision to implement motion controls into Gran Turismo 5 is the reason for the game's lengthy delay.

Wouldn't the wheel work better than the Move in GT5?

Blaze9295106d ago

of course. but that's not the point - what better game to help push MOVE than Gran Turismo? That's the goal

Petro5106d ago

Actually i'm pretty sure that they are calling the ps3 eye a move now :) the thing they were implementing was the ability to look around your cars cockpit by turning your head... and that only requires ps3 eye.

Can't understand why anyone would want to use Move to play GT5. Seems like a niche few would care, so why delay the game just to add Move functionality? Seems the implementation of 3D is more behind the delay but again, who would care? How many of the install base will really have 3D to enjoy the functionality?

Idk about ps move working in gt5, I think it will feel weird playing a driving game using ps move. Playb3yond

Fishy Fingers5106d ago

Probably not the sole reason, I expect it's more about maximising the games exposure by releasing it around the holiday season. Although that dies coincide nicely with the Move launch.

If the game were ready and Sony were desperate to launch they would, Move support could of been patched in later, which is proven to be possible, because of that I doubt the reason for GT5 launch window was determined purely by the peripheral.

wow it stinks in here, but when natal is mentioned for a racing game it gets crapped on, but move for gt5 is all of a sudden ok.

I honestly can't see the 'invisible' steering wheel being nearly as precise as a controller.

Meryl5106d ago

pretending you have a wheel in your hands is not fun and is not the best way to drive a car:(:(

ReBurn5106d ago (Edited 5106d ago )

To be fair, holding a stick in your hand and pretending to drive with it isn't all that much fun, either. And there's nothing to say that you couldn't hold a plastic wheel and drive with Natal, much like the wheel that the Wii's nunchuck is placed in. Wouldn't be surprised to see Move get it's own clip-on plastic wheel, either.

Physical object versus Invis object?, I'll go with Physical object, that way at least when people see me they know I'm playing a game.

@waltercross

If you were worried about what people thought of you, you probably wouldn't be playing video games in front of others in the first place.

With that said, If someone saw you using Natal, is it so hard to explain to them that you are indeed using Natal?

Both Move and Natal will not satisfy the hardcore gamer, so why can't everyone stop pretending they will by sparring over which is better, especially when no one has even used either.

Good Day

stevenhiggster5106d ago

TBH I don't really think Move will be too good with GT5 but it will certainly be better than Natal, imaginary wheel!? pew, pew, pew.
