The Gamers Temple: Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse - The Penal Zone Review

The Gamers Temple writes: "As The Penal Zone opens, our heroes Sam and Max are trapped in a cage on the bridge of a starship bombarding their city. At the ship's control is the gorilla-like alien General Skunkape (pronounced Skun-ka-pay), who cackles with glee as each salvo is released, while his bride Stinky sits nearby trying to alleviate her boredom with an impromptu manicure. Can Max use his psychic powers to save the day? Wait a minute ... what?"

I'm a parent and I don't need any of the things on that last.

Time management, learn to use it.

rnmartinez4222d ago

Well it's good to hear that you have a method to keep gaming. This may not be for you, but I don't think I'm the only one who would use these.

3) Super Easy Mode

LOL

Some games actually have that such as Uncharted 2 and Bayonetta. But overall, regular Easy mode suffices.

rnmartinez4222d ago

Yeah true usualy easy or even normal is enough, I just hate that most games cant be platinumed without at least 2 playthroughs

Axonometri4222d ago

Two play-throughs? Man, I can't even get my fingers on the dang controller or keyboard before something happens most the time. What the double hockey sticks you talking bout' Martinez? TWO playthroughs and your Bitchin'? Sheesh.

Shouldn't we all just be happy for the precious time we are given to play games in our short lives. Even if it is only 30 seconds some days.

rnmartinez4220d ago

I haven't actually managed 2 play throughs or to Platinum any game LOL - just saying it needs 2 which sucks

All of these suggestions can be easily countered with "manage your time better". It is very easy to be able to raise your child right without sacrificing their happiness, their health, or what you enjoy.

One day, your wife does everything while you game all day. Another day in the week, the role is reversed; you do everything while she games all day or does whatever she wishes. On a weekend, have the child stay at a friend's all day for a sleep-over so you and the wife can game and do 'other things' all day. Or catch up on house work if needed.

We all have to grow up some day, but nobody who knows how to actually plan and manage their time would have any problem figuring out how to be more responsible without sacrificing a hobby they love.

Yeah, seems like sound advice.

Or. Try managing all that and then throw in an Autistic kindergartener, a 4 yr old torn apart by divorce and constantly punishing you for being naughty, an 8 yr old who comes home and thinks he has to be you... and topping it all off, every free gaming moment gets squeezed out by your ex-wife trying to find any way possible to prove you are a psychopath, a sociopath and or any other path you can think of and taking you back to court claiming you are doing all the things she has been doing to you.

I feel for whoever might be going through something that awful. Man I could of been playing a game just now.. Darn it!

Your comment has made me scared of women and children.

rnmartinez4220d ago

That is good advice, but I really try to spend as much time as I can with the kids. I really don't like leaving them with anyone, so I try and sneak in gaming after they go to bed, or we try and play Wii together.

My 5 Favorite Bromances

Rebecca Quintana of Vivid Gamer writes, "The world of video games is full of them, with Gears of War and Army of Two usually topping most game-related bromance lists. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, I’ve decided to create my own list–my personal favorite video game bromances. I also decided to avoid many of the “traditional” bromances on this list and go with some newer and less conventional ones you may not have thought about."

That image of Dom & Fenix is forever burned into my mind.

That feels more like a father and son kind of thing to me.

Fine. Jak and Daxter or Ratchet and Clank?
