you know i really cant wait to see what IW, oh i mean RESPAWN will do in the future,i will have my eye on them for sure, seems like we will still be seeing IW but just under a different name and hopefully we can see them make a even better game that becomes just as if not more popular as cod, with out IW Cod is nothing.im sure EA just jumped all over this deal,Hurry up and make us Gamers a Game!!

Trey_4_life5119d ago

Well i must say i'm pleased now most of the 'key' players have left infinity bored studio for respawn but could you imagine if sony signed respawn before EA did with the freedom and development time that sony gives to it's world class first party award winning studios.

Major Kanimo5119d ago

do sony devs poop in golden toilets also?

gypsygib5119d ago

At least the whole debacle serves as an example for CEO's for how not to treat their cash cow game developers. Heads should role at the executive level (Kotick) of Activision - MW3 won't duplicate MW2s success or even come close. That being said, I think it's a lose-lose situation because RESPAWN likely won't duplicate IW past successes either.

Sarevok5119d ago

Sad thing is it will still sell like crazy because of it's name.

Shang-Long5119d ago

it will sell a lot because some people don't follow gaming like some of us do.

Kratos Spartan5119d ago

Try and think about it. It would have been foolish for Activision to jeopardize their cash beast for nothing. West and Zampella must have been up to something. They did join EA and create their own studio rather quickly. The same EA Acti accused them of talking to for some kind of breach of contract.

Publishers do make more than the developers for the games. Since MW2 made so much, maybe West and Zampella felt they just deserved more than they actually got. Maybe this, maybe that, I don't know and we all may never know.

IdleLeeSiuLung5119d ago

Ironically, it is the same EA that West and Zampella left to form IW!

Furthermore, do anyone remember the EA wife thing? Yeah, EA is no saint either!

You just traded one evil for another... EA or Activison, live with it.

Senden5119d ago

Why are people already doubting respawn? EA see the cash potential in IW and I think they'll have creative freedom and the very best resources available to create a top game... while it might not be as successful as mw2.. but lets be honest, no game will match that success for quite a while. Look at what DICE done with Bad Company 2 with EA's backing.. what a great game that is!

luiti15119d ago (Edited 5119d ago )

i hope to see great work from respawn, heck something even bigger than modern warfare.

"call of duty franchise 'screwed' due to activisions arrogance"

Report: Sexual Misconduct Investigation Conducted at EA, Suspects Named and What They Did Revealed

EA senior staff has been investigated for sexual misconduct involving female coworkers, and these said people have been named publicly.

isarai4d ago

Aye just call Phil, i mean he somehow made Bobby Kotick's scandal disappear and gave him a few million dollar high five on the way out.

Cacabunga4d ago

I wonder if it will be censored with some in game ads.

MrBaskerville2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Microsoft did, Phil Spencer played a minor part. He instigated the buyout that led to Kotick escaping all his controversies while getting a golden handshake.

Someone on Twitter calculated that the people hired in Tango and Arkane Austin could get a decent salary for roughly 17 years for the money Kotick was paid.

InUrFoxHole1d 13h ago

Yeah some thing tells me Kotics $ was already guaranteed before MS made the deal. As for the studios... Let's be honest here... none of those studios made system sellers.

XiNatsuDragnel4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

EA about to go down like Activision and then Phil saves the day saying.this is good for the industry and consolidation will help create competition. /s.

MrBaskerville2d ago

Then they shutdown Codemasters and studio behind Jedi Survivor.

Atleast they could hardly do much damage that EA hadn't allready done. EA has shut down most of their studios by now.

What's up with all these horny creeps. You gon be horny, fine. Just not at work take care of that shit before you go in. Rub one out if you have to. Don't be a creep at all. ESPECIALLY at work. But don't be one AT ALL.

Extermin8or3_4d ago

I mean part of the issue is that things transpired outside of work....

MrBaskerville2d ago

That's the thing he mentioned about not being a creep at all.

KwietStorm_BLM4d ago

You think deviants care where they are? Work sometimes makes it an even better situation for them because they can abuse their power.

mudakoshaka3d ago

Nerds think they are Gods when they are making video games.

NotoriousWhiz4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

"it seems that according to EA, given the events transpired outside of work between two adults, and the fact that once investigation has started that the alleged perpetrators didn’t do it again, the investigation is considered closed. [...] The victim still has to work with the people that harassed her."

Yep, EA is disgusting.

Extermin8or3_4d ago

I mean the fact stuff happened outside of work puts EA in quite a difficult position legally. These women don't seem to have reported the matter to the police which kinda ties EA's hands on what they can do. If they don't file reports of the crimes then yeah from EA's perspective it is stuff that happened outside of work. The only exception is the guy that apparently referenced things in the slack channel for work, spending on what he said proving it may be very hard and he may well be able to get away with plausible deniability. I don't like EA and I think these people need to be dismissed but without any legal action being taken, EA can't really do much without risk of being sued themselves for unfair dismissal etc.
