IGN writes: "The visuals are impressive -- especially for a Mini -- and the music is good at adding to the underwater atmosphere, but Reef Aquarium is really just an overpriced screensaver. Honestly, the only real reason I could see someone picking this up is if he or she was having a hard time sleeping and want to put some headphones on and just watch the game in its Screensaver mode. You don't learn much about the fish you see, and the amount of fish in the aquarium is disappointingly limited. If you're looking for something to entertain you in the traditional sense of a videogame, keep on swimming".
