Capcom reveals blockbuster titles for 2011, other new details hot on heels of Captivate 2010 showcase in Hawaii

Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced three blockbuster titles for 2011, including the long-awaited Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, Okamiden and Bionic Commando Rearmed 2.

Bionic Commando Rearmed was great. It was a hard game that tests anyone's patience, but fun. I can't wait to see what they do with this one.

MvC3 better have like a hundred f*cking characters. Somehow though, I have a feeling it'll have even less than MvC2, likely accompanied by weekly sodomy DLC packs that include the missing 3/4 of the roster.

I have read several comments similar today and I am genuinely confused as to why you feel Capcom is 'milking' DLC or as others have commented 'nickel and diming' the consumer.

1) Costumes are ancillary - they do not affect gameplay. (its not like you have to pay for extra character, or for extra levels.)

2) Super Street Fighter 4 is a $40 budget title. Most companies would charge you $60, and wouldn't give you nearly as much - see ODST, and all of the 'GOTY' editions of games.

3) In June, they are give away tournament mode as free DLC. Once again, something that most companies would charge for.

So once again, I am confused at your statement, could you help me understand your thought process?

for the old Street Fighter 4. I still enjoyed the game non-stop up until this point. I don't know why custome packs are important enough to make or break a buying decision on this game. The additions made to this game, along with the 40 dollar price point are instant buy for me, and I would think that the majority of the Street fighter fans of the world would think the same.

That said, by preording from Amazon, you get a 10 dollar game credit for your next purchase as well as a free costume pack. Great deal.

... don't forget this is mainly a year-old game. a GREAT game, but still a year old game. So that explains the lower price-tag. I do agree that for 30 euro/25 pounds it already offers a great deal of content and should be well worth the money.

I'm not saying I won't buy it. I will definately buy it. However, my MAX amount of money I'm willing to spend on the game will be 30 euro. That's including ANY DLC. When a company decided to release DLC, I'll immediately decide that I'm gonna wait till the price drops a bit just so the game PLUS DLC will still be under 30 euro. 30 euro is my max for this game. I'll wait till it drops under 20 pounds (22-23 euro), which shouldn't take all that long.

We call it milking because the costumes were obviously created within time to have been released with the game and because making costumes is of so little time and effort that the pc version of SFIV had 1000s of user created one.

On that same note, do you remember unreal tournament 3? The ps3 version allowed the use of mods and capcom could do the same for costumes but choose not to so they can make extra bucks off us by charging us for their own.

It's "milking" and it's what i hate most about this gen of gaming.

Okami isn't a huge franchise...and i think they NEED okamiden to be successful. if they release it just for a previous generation handheld, then its sales will definitely dwindle, just like what happened to the amazing but highly ignored persona series...

3DS will be backwards compatible so it will be accessible on the current handheld but it depends if retailers will pick it up.

Even if it is backwards compatible, I feel that if it doesn't support the 3D function, it won't be as popular as those that do. That's why I'm worried about the franchise. Didn't the original production team that made Okami go under?

Actually i want bayonetta 2(SEGA), and unless the don't surpass bayonetta 1 then don't bother doing DMC5(My opinion).

BTW in b4 all the disagree, by that i don't mean that bayonetta is the best hack and slash (that spot is already taken by GOW3). But i do mean that is way better than DMC4.

RE5 was the last Capcom game I will buy at launch. After the butchering they gave to the series & their nickel & dime DLC tactics I'll only buy their games when they hit the $29.99 price. That way I can buy the DLC that is already on the disc with that extra 30 bucks I save with waiting.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a pretty huge announcement. Okamiden will no doubt be showered with critical praise. I can't say much about Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 except to say that I am very much looking forward to it.
