If you're waiting for the other shoe to drop, here it is: we've learned from the console versions that the staying power comes from multiplayer. And...it's not really here. The $8 WiiWare download, DIY Showcase, adds a batch of games to the DS version, and yes, there's a multiplayer mode. Unfortunately, it's barebones, and since it lets you mess up opponents' games, it's just a matter of who randomly gets the games you can't sabotage.

These wacky, fast-paced mini-game collections were the perfect way to, not only have some hearty laughs with friends but to show off the more unique and underutilized side of Nintendo hardware. 2010 was a wonderful year for the Wii, thanks to Super Mario Galaxy 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns and Kirby’s Epic Yarn, and that was just retail. There's also had a wonderful collection of downloadable titles via WiiWare, which played host to Sonic the Hedgehog’s comeback and the continuation of the popular Bit.Trip series. So without further ado, we present the ten best WiiWare games of the year.
