That's a pretty cool way to go about it really. Still bummed I wont be able to use the double-tap to access ipod features while in app anymore. Unless I can assign that to something else.

You do know that multi-tasking is not supported in the older iPhone models (1G and 3G) and older ipod models (1G and 2G).. MT only will be supported on iPhone 3GS, iPad and Ipod Touch 3G.

I thought they removed the Double tap from IPT 2G after they added physical hardware volume buttons.... Maybe I am wrong.

Will this multitask be for ALL applications?

What's the deal will double tap?

And hopefully this comes to the iPad.

Icyhot5143d ago

Yes it will work for all apps, at least that is what I got from the things people tweeted during conference. iPad update however will come out in Fall 2010 whereas iPhone and IPT update comes out in summer (possibly with iPhone 4G). Although beta is available for devs now itself.. So one can expect the thing to be jailbroken completely at launch lol.

Fishy Fingers5143d ago

So MT isnt supported on the 3G? That's a shame, I've a 3G and a 3GS, I use the 3G more because it's jailbroken. The 3GS is a work phone so I dont f*** with it much.

3G contract is actually up and wont update until I know whats happening with the whole 4G version that's rumoured.

Yup no MT for 3G.. Check vid for more detail

I thought about iPod controls but they could still do it with 3 taps ? Still would be easy.

I was thinking the same. Or double tap for phone favs, which is where i currently have mine assigned or when it is on sleep ipod.

I'm really loving the looks of the new OS. The only problem is that the iPhone 3GS is pretty outdated now in terms of hardware. IIRC, it uses a 3 Megapixel camera with no flash, whereas the standard is practically 5 Megapixel WITH flash. Hell, the HTC Evo will have an 8 Megapixel camera with twin LED flash.

The processor is also a bit outdated, since a lot of phones now use a 1 GHz processor. To be fair, though, it's integrated a lot better than the processors of other mobile phones.

We all got snubbed on the camera, unfortunately. :(

At least we can take video now though. Lol. *sigh*

WhittO5142d ago

Well they still havent give any details on the new iPhone, only the operating system (which im sure will run even better on the new iPhone).

It is rumoured to have double the screen resolution :D

Here's hoping for better battery too.

I have a 3GS. I'm excited for this!
