One day I suddenly hear the Song of Nephilim playing on the TV, so I instantly think of Xenosaga - best game ever - and rush into the other room excited to see why the song is playing. Was kinda disappointed to see it's a Wii game. :(

For a Wii game the graphics look excellent, but this trailer was a tad bit dull. Not horrible, but definitely dull.

Not to be @ss about it...but in all honesty with its washed out colours, it looks like a PS2 game.

Actually sidar you are right some one needs to show them how to use MIP mapping yet it does look like they blew there whole budget on the surroundings, if so make multiple prop scenes and limited cam movement.

Oddy enough I like the art and the animation so far. I like this game for what it is, it has personalty. I miss that in RPGs nowadays.

I still play some Ps2 games so this does not bother me.

Also after seeing the first promo I think these guys are going for a hey look it's a smaller world inside another world idea. They might not have the correct tech to pull it off but they are close.

This is console dev. They are using a very old engine with this game it seems yet they instead seem to be trying to make a great story and game rather than a graphics tech demo.

This is actually nice to see again. Console devs focus on a rich game rather than look at the graphics!

The game still looks great. A little old school in style but great.

I am thinking seriously to buy a Wii for this game and Last Story the only thing hold me back is the fact that discs on Wii dont have the space needed for Dual Audio so I doubt I will find Japanese VO, if some1 have a JRPG on Wii with Japanese VO enlighten me is it possible?

Yup, it's possible but it actually depends how big the games are. Most Wii games are only single layer so if they needed dual languages they could easily go to dual layer. I think Fragile has dual languages, I guess I'll find out next week when I finally get my copy.

Whether they choose to give dual languages though? that's a whole different matter.

Come on people don't be delusional. How can you call this game "beautiful" when the graphics don't even match the quality of Kingdom Hearts 2 or FFXII or Rogue Galaxy on PS2 even though this game's on a "next gen" console.

The name got me interested for a momment because it reminded me the master piece that was Xenogears but after Xenosaga I think I had enough from this guy. Since the day he created Xenogears and left Square the only kind of games he's making with this new company are sh1tty jrpg's and this one's looking even worse than Xenosaga... But at least Xenosaga had better graphics...

So what if the graphics aren't the best? The game still looks beautiful. As long as the game is good, and it doesn't leave a bloodstain on my glasses, I'm happy. This game may not have the best graphics for what the Wii can do, but it still looks beautiful.

How can anybody say this game looks beautiful? It doesn't so stop kidding yourself. It doesn't look beautiful by any stretch of the imagination!

The graphics are pathetic. Yes the scale of the landscape is impressive, but the models are really poor- they look like characters from the n64 era. The textures are blurry, the colours are muddy, there is no impressive lighting, it all looks muted and lifeless.

I think a lot of you people need a wake up call because you are clearly deluded. There is nothing in this trailer that you can say makes it look amazing as a few of you have said.

Those areas would be so spectacular of made in next gen visuals, now that looks terrible, worst than games released 5-6 years back

Like Zelda TP that had nice art, but washed out colors and textures and horrid polygon counts and detail and zero next gen effects or shaders, this game looks far worst even

Maybe in N64 days that game would look passable, today it looks horrid

Zelda WW (GC), FF7-8-9, Conker, starfox adventures (GC) etc all look a billion times better than this game

I sometimes wonder if they just released a mote for GC, the games could potentially look 10x better than Wii games look today, starfox and WW are proof

I agreed with your response but not sure about this last bit (which i have quoted above.)

The wii is more powerful than the gamecube, but not by much. it is true though, there are many gc games that look better than the wii. i think that is partly nintendos fault for the direction they have taken their games (ie wii sports.)

The success of those simple games has encouraged other developers to follow suit, so those old games with great graphics have been largely abandoned.

I really think the graphics in xenoblade are just lazy, because the wii is capable of much better. The gc is capable of much better, heck, even a ps2 is capable of much better! This is n64 generation graphics- perfect dark looked better than this! at least that had real time lighting!

it all in how the developers uses the hardware. The gamecube has more power than a PS2, but a pS2 disc size give them more room for other things. RE4 looks better on gamecube than PS2 (not sure if it looks better on wii, but not worst). The wii has more power than a gamecube with DVD size discs, but the developers don't push the hardware. There are some go looking wii games, maybe this isn't the best example. Go look at MH3

all of that looked in game and the world looks miles better then what fable had on xbox. overall the graphics look like they could tall a great story. to be honest the shot of the waterfall made me think it looks almost as good as an HD console release. The character models aren't super incredible but at least on par with the detail of characters in FF X.

This year hold alot of unique RPGs... still waiting to see what kind of battle system they went with.

Otherwise it's not as dramatically awful as some of you seem to be claiming. It looks like they made the hardware work for them just fine.

i love xenogears and xenosaga but this looks like crap, unlikable main character designs so far, story doesnt look interesting, its on the wii (yes thats a negative) and for a next gen game it looks worse visually than xenosaga 3, how does a game not even out on a next gen console by the same creators look worse than a 3 year old last gen game??????

it looks like it was going for the same grand scale as Monster Hunter Tri. But that game actually has really good graphics to match its scope. This xenoblade game just looks pants. if there is one example of what being a fan can do to blind people, this is it.

I have been looking forward to this game but after seeing this footage it puts me off. I dont mind graphics being simple, after all i knew this when i got a wii. But this game is just taking the p1ss!

I was viewing that footage in a tiny little box, i dread to think what it would look like on a large lcd tv.

This is a let down in my opinion. just makes me wonder what last story will look like. probably another crap game but with lots of deluded fans.

Well you you just have a crap TV then, my 52" HD tv renders Wii output more than decent.
Its just bit soft.
Stuff on 480i come out sharp...but then the screen is just scaled up in a normal fashion.

Guys really what's the prob I see many of you whine about the graphics, is it the most important thing for you when you play a JRPG? my favorite games like FFVII, Xenogears, LoD, Suikoden 2-3, Breath of Fire III and more dont have good graphics at all but I choose this games over FFXIII 1000% the game looks gr8 for me I can appreciate some good visuals ofc like UC2 but graphics is not everything start looking for other things like story & gameplay or even soundtrack that's what JRPG's is all about.. anyway I have play so many JRPG on PS1 that this graphics looks gr8 stop whining and start playing and find other things to point when you judge a game, especially a JRPG...

true, ff7 doesn't look much now, but that game is over a decade old! of course it looks bad now! this is a game that hasn't even been released yet and it looks awful!

Story, music and gameplay is important, but the way they are presented to you is equally as important. this isn't an issue with wii processing power, its an issue of bad design.

and besides, this doesn't look like crap. Sure the characters look weird like they are stuck between real life and anime, but everything else looks nice. If HD didn't poison you guys mind into thinking no HD equals bad, you could appreciate this game more. No one is expecting the wii to pull of PS3 graphics, but this is not N64 graphics. If 64 looked like that, we'd probably just now be getting a gamecube released.

Half of the people on this site aren't even real gamers, and their post show that. Its sad when I can run across a 12 year old kid who can see that Galaxy looks better than sunshine, but N4G commentors argue it doesn't. this divide between gamers HD vs Wii, is just ridiculous. Why can't we all just compliment each others good instead of nag about each other's bad? Especially when its opinion not FACT???

It doesn't look as good as LOZ TP, but it certainty doesn't look like an n64 game.

FF13 with all its graphical charm is worse then most other FF games.
Think about that. The only thing they need to do is improve on those models, the scan that came out a while ago looks better then this trailer.

i would also like if they brought Xenosaga 1 & 2(DS game) to America. i haven't played any xeno games. i hope this also comes over here too. i'll keep this as a blip on my radar, but i would like to see what the gameplay looks like.

as for "o noz, my eyez are bleeding itz not in HD!" i play games that are fun. i guess games like megaman 10 also make your eyes bleed, despite it being a really good game. maybe capcom should only have released it on the wii, since teh grafix only matter for those HD gamers so i guess MM10 sold like crap on the other 2.
