Sniper: Ghost Warrior - First Video with Crysis like graphics

City Interactive released the first trailer for Sniper: Ghost Warrior. It shows some nice jungle action with graphics like Crysis. Get the video through the link.

While I do appreciate the uniqueness of this game. "Crysis-like Graphics" is going too far to hype this game.

JonnyBadfinger5159d ago (Edited 5159d ago )

saying its pushing Crysis level graphics is a bit of a stretch... the game does look good but i will reserve all judgement until i see a couple more trailers. the character models look a bit off to me and look like they may need some further work.

And doesnt anyone else think that it looks a hell of a lot like the new Unreal Engine demo Epic Games showed a couple of weeks ago?

Anyway i am interested to see how this game pans out... finally a game where my 'Camping' or as i like to call it, 'strategically positioning' skills will be appreciated and complimented.

game looks good - potential to be a good game but too early to tell. No doubt this was PC footage rather than 360 footage. If they can get the game to look like that on the 360 though than kudos to them for raising the bar yet again for 360 games. But doubt it.

I agree if you look closley at the foliage it reminds of the foliage seen in the ramped up UE tech demo.
Does anyone remember a tactical shooter released 5 years ago on the PS2and original Xbox titled Sniper Elite, this game bares a strong resemblence.

Inside_out5159d ago (Edited 5159d ago )

Rental or bargain bin type of title...Environments look good, character models last gen, same for the physics...Their heads when shot should crack open in slo-mo...lol...looks kinda XBL arcade like....STILL...it is a sniper game.....Who remembers Sniper Elite with the slo-mo bullet effect jacked from Max Payne...good times...lots of vids on u-tube if anybody interested...Elite was a last Gen title....Keeping an eye out for REAL in game footage....

I always wanted a sniper game... Silent Scope was pretty good, but really required an arcade to properly play it. I might have to check out that Sniper Elite game for the PS2.

We will see. I do believe the developers. But i don't believe that it looks as good as Crysis.

mittwaffen5159d ago

wrong, not even close to CG.

Watch in HD, you can see the texture filtering; jaggies in the distance and other effects that point to in game engine being used.

This is not CG, its a scripted in engine trailer.

Fishy Fingers5159d ago

CG?

Although the opening states all done with game engine? PC build no doubt, but clearly not CG.

Is reading a dead art on N4G?

mittwaffen5159d ago (Edited 5159d ago )

that is a scripted in engine cutscene.

Looks amazing IMO- crisis like seems to be similar actually. It might have a rought patch or two, but it looks very very very good; well atleast on PC. We'll wait to see how bad the consoles look.

I was hoping for a good REALISTIC TPS (not another MW2). Military Realistic shooters/tps are where it was at (Socom 1,2) I pray to god that this game will have an amazing mix of combat online.

Whilst the gameplay won't appeal to me (me being more suited to Third Person Shooters) I have to say, technical wise, that was very impressive. I wrongly judged this game and to all whom like first person & Sniping, enjoy.

Advent Rising is another good example. It got panned by critics but it has a good story and I enjoyed playing it. The graphics are dated, the enemies all look the same, but it was made in 2005 so what do you expect? I wish they made the sequel so I could finish the story but I think the critics killed it off.

I don't trust critics.
I'd value more the feedback from a random user.

nommers2344d ago

I seldom trust gamers or critics anymore. A lot of times high scores just mean how likely you are to enjoy something from the game, but rarely anything about how much you would enjoy said things, or whether the highly preferred type of qualities in a game you’re looking for are even in it. My initial gut feeling of the premise of a game is usually all I need.

5 Games With A Misunderstood Reputation

Not every "bad game" deserves its reputation, some are just misunderstood because they were too ambitious, over hyped or heavily plagued by a bad development cycle.

Not all bad games are actually bad, some of them deserve a second look.

Shut your mouth.

No Mans Sky first trailer looked like this epic world of exploration and conflict.

Reality was - barren waste lands with creatures looking straight out of Gary's Mod.

No Mans Sky also promised the ability to play with friends which all was said during talk show interviews.

Reality Was - Absolutely zero multiplayer found inside the game, there were even sketchy moments of discoveries disappearing if you happened to travel far enough into the center of the universe.

The developers also promised a really cool ending to the game once you reached the center of the universe.

Reality Was - ...just YouTube the ending and realize how much of a shit show this game is.

They EVEN came back with some base making update.

Reality Was - They first sold you on a game of massive nearly endless space exploration, though they came back out with an expansion pack based on base-making which promotes squatting on a damn planet and doing very little.

Stahp.

thorstein2691d ago (Edited 2691d ago )

MP as you claim was never, ever promised. In fact, it was explained in 2014, 2015, and 2016 that the game wasn't MP.

Lack of reading comprehension (GI's "Stop Thinking of No Man's Sky as a Multiplayer Game" 2014) isn't the fault of the developer.

Are some promised things missing from the game? Yes. Are some unpromised things in the game. Yes. Were there lies written by hack journalists and repeated in echo chambers touted as truths (no large scale space battles)? Yes

There are two endings to the game, in reality.

Reality is, you haven't played the new update. Your base and every single space station has a teleporter to quickly move between your base and the space station. That means you can move across the galaxy in the blink of an eye.

You never read the article, did you?

My take away from this is something I cling to religiously. Price will often time dictate my expectations levels and perhaps rightly so.
Something priced at $15 to $20 bucks will receive a less critical (not a pass) eye as opposed to a $60 dollar one.
When I put down $60 im expecting a life changing experience. When I give you $10 to $15 bucks I understand that this project may be something personal, or very niche or perhaps even vaguely resemble a game as I know it in its traditional sense.
time and price give one the ability to experience a game quietly and without reservations.
This is not great for developers, especially indie ones, but sometimes it's all you can do to truly enjoy something.
Daikatana was crap, though, not even time can help that mess. Everything else on that list I can mostly agree with.

Razzer2691d ago

Why is there a picture of No Man's Sky? The piece doesn't even mention that game at all.
