GameXplain writes: "While aimlessly roaming the streets of San Francisco today, the GameXplain crew ran into the inestimable Douglass C. Perry. Mr. Perry was on his way to check out Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions for the first time, so naturally, we decided to crash the party. I was already planning on attending the panel discussion at WonderCon, but this seemed like an even better chance to grab a sneak peak of a game that is actually shaping up pretty nicely. For this latest Spider-Man game, Activision looked long and hard at reviews and fan reception for the recent Spider-Man titles and attempted to craft a title that would make Spider Man fans proud. So far, this effort seems to be paying off..."
"I had tasked myself in the previous weeks of playing every single one of the web slinger’s numerous appearances on PlayStation platform. From the experimental days of open-world gaming to the numerous titles put out by Activision, we’ve ranked them from worst to greatest." -- PlayStation Enthusiast
I haven't played any others on this list, but Spiderman on the PS1 was an awesome game. The escape scene running away from a Carnage infested Doc Oc was intense. The screams were almost nightmare inducing as a kid.
Spider-Man first made his way into our hearts in 1962 and since then his popularity has spread like a web to all facets of our media consumption channels. Believe it or not, the first Spider-Man game was made in 1978 called Questprobe which was a text based adventure.
I still think that the best spiderman game is
Spiderman & Venom: maximum carnage (SNES/GENESIS)
After Spiderman 3 (current-gen) i was really put off by Spidey games. It was a real let-down. And what's worse is the potential that's there for a great Spiderman game. As always it goes down to who's developing and if the publisher want's a real game or a cheap movie tie-in.
The trailer at the VGAs for the new game looked really good, but then trailers always do.
Spider-man and Spider-man 2: Enter Electro on PS1 were my 2 favorite Spider-man games.
My next after that was probably Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety. I never played Maximum Carnage actually.
Brad Lansford, senior designer at Griptonite, is here to tell you all how Shattered Dimensions DS brings about the same style of gameplay as Web of Shadows, but improves on it in a variety of ways. You might be shocked to find out that despite the game's similarities, they are actually running on completely different engines.
