Game Hub: Luminary Review

While the game doesn't do anything wrong, it doesn't seem like a proper MMORPG. It's more of a glorified chat vehicle, with bits of gameplay half-heartedly thrown in front of its path. Luminary is more of a training simulator for real -i.e, not free- MMO's. Relaxing and sociable it may at times be, but it's not really for fans of the genre. Perhaps this comparison to hardcore MMO's is unfair, and if you're not one of those fans and are new to the whole thing, Luminary is an easy-going and commitment-free game to start with. Just don't expect to stick with it for too long.

An In-Game Tour of Luminary: Rise of the GoonZu

For those of you who don't know what Luminary: Rise of the GoonZu is, it's one of the few F2P MMOs on the market that splits its focus between PvE monster mashin' and political / economical manipulation. Luminary features a completely player-driven economy where raw materials can be farmed off of monsters, but everything else is placed firmly in the hands of the artisans. The game also features an innovative democratic voting system that ultimately sees a "GoonZu" take power. This GoonZu then manages the world and appoints ministers to take care of certain tasks.
