"People know we're a software company, we have the best tools and internal support; and second, people who buy Xbox 360 buy a lot of games."

Can't argue with them facts. No wonder so many publishers are supporting Natal.

@mrv321
Natal is new obviously its installbase won't be large to begin with but the reason why devs are making games for it is because they know MS will sell millions of units.

The launch games for Natal wont't cost that much to make anyway since they have only been in development for about a year to publishers won't be losing much money

"I guarantee that more PS3 games will support motion controls than Natal by the end of year"
Considering the majority of the games will just be currently released games with motion tacked on I wouldnt be surprised.

You obviously haven't played zelda, mario or metroid on the Wii ,play those games and if you still think motion controls suck then you opinion will actually be valid.

Supporting Natal? I guarantee that more PS3 games will support motion controls than Natal by the end of year... I'm almost 100% certain of that.

Microsoft is a soft were company it's not like they'll advertise their other hardware work... cough the 360. The funny thing is that the maths proves Natal to be less profitable for developers.... seeing as it's going to be difficult for Natal user-base to outgrow that of the 360. How many NATAL's do you think will sell this Christmas? I don't think it'll reach the 5 million marks, your then cutting your user-base to 1/8 by making your game Natal exclusive.

If I was a developer I wouldn't support Move or Natal exclusively, I'd allow my games to be played on the controller with optional Natal support which raises an interesting thing...

If you make your game Natal exclusives you'll cut sales by a lot, costing money.
If you make your game Natal and Controller then you have a problem, the Natal add-ons will HAVE to be tacked on or the controller only players will feel left out, that really destroys the point of Natal
If you make your game Controller exclusive... you erm... your fine.

Motion controllers almost EXCLUSIVELY suck, they are not accurate enough and not responsive enough, I've yet to see Natal in an online game and that worries me because that's the main selling point of the 360 and the reason I bought one, so for a add-on not to be live compatible ON the 360 is going to fairly stupid.

You may find yourself wishing that developers could just "tack on" motion controls for Natal to already existing games, too.

I don't mean that as a knock on Natal, just that Move makes it very easy to have games that work either way without making sacrifices.

The game sales thing is subjective. Microsoft has more game systems on the market in the US that's whey they sell more games than Sony in the US and is usually just the FPS games that do better. Based on percentage of consoles on the market for Sony and Microsoft, Sony probably selling just as many games as Microsoft.

How is it bashing other consoles when you are talking about why you believe your product will succeed despite being late to the part. These facts support his argument. PS3 fanboys are like corrupt politicians (just attack everything the outside has to say, even if they are all facts). Greenberg could say: UC2 was game of the year 2009, and the PS3 N4G fanboy would disagree and say that he is bashing PS3. This is what it has come to here on N4G.

First party studios struggle with Microsoft.

* ACES Game Studio: Microsoft Flight Simulator series, Combat Flight Simulator series and Microsoft Train Simulator series. Closed on January 23, 2009 in a process of ongoing job cuts due to Financial crisis of 2007–2010.
* Ensemble Studios: Age of Empires series, Age of Mythology, Halo Wars. Disbanded on January 29, 2009.
* Carbonated Games: Developed for MSN Games and Windows Live Messenger. Disbanded on March 27, 2008.
* Digital Anvil: Brute Force, Freelancer. Disbanded on January 31, 2006.
* Hired Gun: Halo 2 for Windows Vista. Disbanded in October 2007.
* FASA Studio: MechWarrior series. Disbanded on September 12, 2007.
* Indie Built: Amped series, Links series, Top Spin series. Sold off to Take-Two Interactive in October 2004, now disbanded.

I actually made up that list... oh no, regardless of what you think people lost their jobs and as such Microsoft first parties have suffered.

“Bond adds that they will start on the web”

This will go nowhere.

Nice knowing you Xbox. This is what happens when the house never gets cleaned.

MrDead3d ago

The only this MS is expanding is the amount of feculence it sprays on everyone who just want to enjoy gaming and make games.

The best thing MS can do for the gaming industry is leave and never return.

Good luck with this even it might not succeed.
