Unique Eyefinity Demonstrations using Curved Displays

Video Perspective: Eyefinity goes curvy!

We absolutely love unique demonstrations of graphics and gaming hardware and at a recent AMD professional graphics meeting in Santa Clara we had a chance to get hands on with a couple of innovative display technologies. The first, from a company called Scalable, uses multiple projectors and software used to scale and warp the projector output to create a seamless display on anything from flat walls to curved glass and even complete domes. Our second demo shows a set of three 2880x900 curved monitors from Ostendo that encompass about 270 degrees of your field of view.

Now this is the type of multi-monitor pc gaming display I would buy. But my 24 inch is serving me fine right now. But this is defenitely an option........................ if it were cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eyefinity looks alright. But I don't understand why they don't release bigger and/or wider monitors. Why not release something like a 40-inch monitor with a 2.5:1 aspect ratio (slightly wider than cinemascope).

You wouldn't have to put up with these idiotic bezels.

Right now, 30-inch 16:10 is the biggest you can get. There are bigger TVs of course, but they're only 1080p while a 30-inch is 1600p. Where's a 40-inch 2000p?

I am running three 24" monitors in eyefinity and let me tell you, when you do this, you do not want to go back to "regular" gaming at all.

This is especially cool to me since I have one eye one either side of my head like a fish.

I think i'm one of them that don't like it cause of the bars of the monitor are there in the middle, wish the whole thing was the screen with no dividers in the middle

Need to see it with your own eyes, not from pics. The black bars disappear from your mind when playing. Also I stack my borders instead of setting monitor side by side, leaving a 1/4 inch border which melts away when playing :)

Damned, this is expensive. I have 3 monitors set up for my best PC. They are not specialized/curved monitors though.

Looking at the prices for these, a Virtual Reality goggle seems more practical and viable.
