You can't make something into what it isn't.

MexicanAppleThief5145d ago

Isn't this the year Wii Relax is coming out? lol

ChickeyCantor5144d ago

So relax just overshadows all those awesome games from Nintendo?
Wut?

Seekerofthewind5144d ago

Of course it does! Y'know, Metroid Other M, Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda Wii, Pikmin 3, HeartGold and SoulSilver...all of these are overshadowed by the obvious tech demo game (a la Wii Sports/Fit/Resort) that all good Wii peripherals end up having. /sarcasm

Syronicus5144d ago

If you don't know it now then you will know it by the end of this year.

LordMarius5144d ago

so new IPs? oh wait this is Nintendo...

TheTwelve5144d ago

Sidar --- N4G's true Wii Defender. =) Mad respect man.

Maybe if the Wii truly gets hardcore games, I'll get one.

Christopher5144d ago

Didn't he say that in 2008 and 2009 as well?

eagle215144d ago

The Wii is plain awesome...fuc$ the haters. :)

Government Cheese5144d ago

SMG2
Metroid other M
Zelda (maybe)

Good enough for me

N4g_null5144d ago

Lol bob so the wii doesn't have to worry about hd motion controls if we use your logic and you also prove the wii was also hardcore along with expanded audience. I mean real gamers already knew this.

I don't know but their is some thing I herently broken with adult gamers. They kill every plaform that soly caters to them, from neo geo, 3do, to the dreamcast and now pc gaming.

I guess it's the fact that they activiely ignore things. Man are you guys going to be pissed when next gen is annouced in 2012 or 11 depending on how bad the motion controls do

Gr815144d ago

Bob, did you see the recent trailer for Other M? Galaxy 2? Played RS2 yet? How bout NMH2? What do you think of Monster Hunter Tri? Silly, silly bob. Wii's got a fantastic lineup of games across many genres. If you can't find something you like, maybe console gaming isn't your thing?

But you sure were quick to post in the Wii news section werent you ; )

NotSoSilentBob5143d ago

To anyone who says the Wii is a "hardcore" gaming console. I ask you what is it's best selling software? Wii Fit. Last year and in previous years they have shown great hardcore games to come but they have all sold crappy. The Conduit, House of the Dead, Mad World, Cod4MW reflex. They are trying to get a piece of the cake that Nintendo has locked down with it's Family Friendly Machine.

Seekerofthewind5143d ago (Edited 5143d ago )

The Conduit has a sequel coming out, proving that HVS was happy with the sales. SEGA was happy with Madworld's sales, and I would be too with such a niche game. House of the Dead 2 and 3 broke a mil (Not bad for a double-port of a years-old game), Modern Warfare Reflex is fairly close to a mil (Not bad for a two-year-old port), and House of the Dead: Overkill has a commendable .67 mil (Not bad for a Lightgun game that came after the double-port of a game in the same franchise, of the same genre).

greatest line up,
Xenoblade, The Last Story, Zelda Wii, Sin and Punishment 2, Galaxy 2, Other M

and those are all exclusives,

Syronicus5144d ago

Thank god! No really, thank god because those are titles that make it worth owning a Wii since out of all the shovel-ware there is a small (very small) handfull of titles that are even worth buying these days on the Wii.

Cajun Chicken5144d ago

My Wii's gonna be on fire if I can get ahold of some of the games this year.

Fatal Blow5144d ago

I still do play my wii from time to time but there's some great wii games coming out on 2010

mastiffchild5144d ago

Yep, it's a full range, platform munching, all inclusive , gamer skinting year of quality. Doesn't matter what you game on:there's a shedload of good stuff around. We've had plenty on PS3 and 360 and PC have started as well. As for the Wii, being in the UK I still haven't got NMH2 yet but have both that and RS2 from 3rd parties to play before all the Ninty flavoured stuff starts landing.

Would be happier if the controls on Other M didn't look like they were designed purely to take your mind off the bloody game but we'll have to play it before knowing how good or bad they actually are(being honest I'm worried about them-I prefer a game to rake up the difficulty by game play rather than deliberately fiddly controls and I've never been a fan of that Dpad)but, if Zelda DOES turn up(and lord knows it should seeng as they've had since well before Wii launched, really, to get cracking on the damn thing!)this year I fail to see what more Nintendo themselves could do on the game front to support their platform.

Good stuff everywhere and not a penny in the effin bank. Where's our summer drought that we moan about devs and publishers ignoring every year when we need it?

Nugundam00795144d ago

For some of us Zelda, Monster Hunter Tri and Metroid is all we need

Gen0ne5144d ago

Even just Zelda and Metroid.

Seriously all the other exclusives coming this year are just gravy. Just keep drip feeding me Metroid and Zelda and I'm a happy guy.

Honestly I really changed my mind on Fi with the remaster because they didn't make her interrupt your gameplay every 5 seconds, that drastically changed my views on her

Inverno84d ago

Technically she's in ToTK but obviously can't take any other form than the sword she was made into. Also the companion feature has been done plenty of times in Zelda, I don't think it'll add anything new. If anything should be brought back it should be the Minish.

Directionless Modern Zelda Should Return to its 3D Roots

Matt from We Game Daily writes "The Legend of Zelda series has gone in a different direction. One which, try as I have, I just can’t get on board with. Here is why I think Zelda should return to its 3D roots."

Amen! A good, tight, Zelda game with a focus on dungeons and puzzles. Let people have the new style Zelda if you gotta, but let us have the OoT style games too. That's not without precedent either, the handheld 2D Zelda's in the style of A Link to the Past etc have coexisted alongside the 3D Zelda's before

FinalFantasyFanatic115d ago

As much as I like BoTW, TotK, I need my traditional Zelda games as well, I could not endlessly play the open world Zelda games, plus it's harder to keep those fresher than the traditional games.

Eidolon114d ago (Edited 114d ago )

BotW was just as fresh to the franchise as OoT was. TokT was great but the next LoZ would have to move from that formula to be fresh again. There's only so much they can do with the hardware. I think they focused too much on making the world big instead impactful. I felt the world was sort of empty and repetitive in TotK, sure there was a lot to do but no more difference a Ubisoft game..

anast114d ago

I wouldn't worry too much. Nintendo knows what they are doing.

Ristul114d ago

Wind Waker had a perfect balance of open world and a cool, well hand-crafted design. Maybe try to keep the open world but put in effort to make more memorable story driven quests and locations.

Zelda Fan Brings Godzilla to Life in Tears of the Kingdom

A fan of The Legend of Zelda has recreated the iconic Japanese monster Godzilla in Tears of the Kingdom using the game's Zonai devices.

Knightofelemia152d ago

I like it would also be cool if some created Dragon Caesar in the game I would love to watch the two going at it.
