Some of you may have heard of and even played the original Ragnarok Online, which is a massively multiplayer role playing game. Though deeply inspired by Norse mythology, the game also managed to reference cultures from all over the world, giving players a fun and interesting MMORPG. After years of being highly successful online (which even spawned an anime), it's not surprising to think the game would come out on at least one console, and thus we have Ragnarok DS. While this should have been great news to fans of the original series, they are bound to be sorely disappointed for a variety of reasons.
Published and localized by XSEED in the year 2010, Ragnarok DS came to the American continent.This title based on the known and popular Ragnarok Online comes to the Nintendo DS, but does the game meet the expectations of the fans of the MMORPG or is it just a failed attempt by Gravity and GungHo? let’s find out.

WP writes: "Most companies have all but realized that MMOs don't work on consoles, but few have had the inane idea of taking all the worst parts of an MMO and condensing it into a handheld game. Alas, that's just what XSeed and Gravity tried to do with Ragnarok DS, and the results are expectedly atrocious.
Ragnarok DS is a spin-off of the MMO Ragnarok Online, and I hope for the sake of the game's community that the full-fledged online game is more entertaining than its DS counterpart. This version features a paucity of locales, insultingly insipid quests and more boring level-grinding than even a typically obsessive RPG gamer would be willing to handle."
Although this may not have worked with the DS, can you imagine if Blizzard released a handheld WOW? That'd be AMAZING
