Because Microsoft banned over 1 million users, doesn't that, that's how many people that stopped using their modded console. I know some people just stopped playing online with their modded one, and bought another one to play online with.

The first 360 RROD'd like 50% (yes, I'm giving a small number), I know not everyone sent them back in to Microsoft. Some people bought 2.

I think anywhere around 5 to 10 million are just from RROD and Banishment's alone.

To the FUD spreading OP.. MS debunked the 1mil consoles rumor.. MS is just protecting their interests just like Sony removing OtherOS. Regardless, none of that matters a sale is a sale.

360 never sold well in Japan, and it never will. MS cannot come out with a game or an add-on that would make the Japanese people buy there system. And they spent a ton of money on market research in Japan, hell the whole look of the 360 was based off of the Japanese test market. @Bereaver is right most 360 purchase in the last year or so have been re-buys from there die hard loyalist.
Hell M$ is proud of the fact that people re-buy there console so much.
They brag that the average 360 consumer has purchased at least 2 360's

Despite this difference, 360 still manages to maintain brisk sales overall, and stay ahead of it's primary competition.

Just type this in Google (gotta love google) xbox 360 outsells PS3 in Japan

And if you look at the page closely you will see 2007, 2008, 2009 where the 360 outsold the PS3 in Japan.

I am only going by what Google is displaying so please don't hate :-)
