Tetsuya Nomrua Confirms Kingdom Hearts 3 along with two other KH titles

Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomrua said in an recent interview found in the Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Ultimania guidebook "About the next title, Kingdom Hearts 3 depends on Final Fantasy XIII Versus, but development of the next title is already underway. There are two titles other than Kingdom Hearts 3 in conception, and I think I'll release one within this year."

so this is my 2 piece.

KH3 exclusive on PS3 or the Wii.

KH multiplatform Spinoff for PS3/X360
nomura said he wanted to expand the story of some characters of the game. This one would be perfect as a multiplatform game.

Another game on DS.

sakura20095154d ago

no. that means it will be on psp or ds. since its 3 kingdom hearts games

masterofpwnage5154d ago (Edited 5154d ago )

Oh man make it happen please. Ps3 exclusive. I remember back then alot of people were saying it might go to the wii because of the wii mote but sinse ps3 has the ps move I think it might be a ps3 exclusive. Idc just make it happen. I've been hyped up for kingdom hearts3 before I've even heard of ps3 wii and the 360. And ffv13 was the Reason I got the ps3

gunnerforlife5154d ago

sakura id hate to say it but he's right. Tetsuya wants to make kingdom of hearts 3 exclusive to PS3, the only way square would let that happen is if he makes a spin-off on the 360 and PS3 seeing as square loves the $

R_19935154d ago

Does that mean it'll be exclusive/not depending on versus' sales?

sakura20095154d ago (Edited 5154d ago )

no. im talking about the other 2 kingdom hearts spin off. theey will come to ds or psp. just like 352/8 days came to ds and birth by sleep for psp. like that. and kingdom 3 will be on ps3 or wii

sakura20095154d ago (Edited 5154d ago )

sorry natsu. i didnt mean to agee with u. i accidently click on agree

masterofpwnage5154d ago

Bro if it's sales of the ffv13 then kh3 is for sure a ps3. Ffv13 is one the biggest exclusive for the ps3 sinse it first came out. Also it's a final fatansy and you know how well that sells and it's a rpg so get ready for a 1 million or half a million in japan

ATLGAMER5154d ago

Will be a ps3 exclusive and all KH games sold better on ps2 ..

mastiffchild5154d ago

Jeeesus. IDK what the levels of truth are to MS and SE loving each other or Nomura being a proper PS fanboy and what effect that really ever had on versus and KH3's ultimate destinations but is the man EVER overworked? It's like he's got his fingers in every bloody pie they have in the oven bits for FF13 then leading roles on Dissidia, Versus ALL the bloody KH stuff across all platforms, Third Birthday and a ton of other bits and bobs. i'm surprised the guy can tell what's what when he gets to work every morning.

What's even MORE amazing is how well coiffed he always looks. Very unruffled and like he's had five hours to tease his barnet! Not at all like a man single handedly keeping SE in the gaming industry! I guess if his workload IS as massive as it appears to be then his own opinions might hold some big sway even with Wada, who really has any clue though?

young juice5154d ago (Edited 5154d ago )

maybe this is that big exclusive deal that was rumored for sony

Natsu X FairyTail5154d ago (Edited 5154d ago )

10 disagrees? Care to explain why you disagreed?

Kingdom Heart 3 will either be Wii exclusive or a PS3 exclusive.

the 2nd new KH will probably be a Spinoff available on both PS3 and Xbox360 since Square-Enix arent stupid enough to let the Xbox360 fanbase empty handed. That's where Nomura's comment about expanding the Story of certain characters in the game might be applied. This would be no different than MGS:Rising.

the 3rd game will be on Portable consoles. There's a big chance that it's going to be on the DS since Birth By sleep just got out not too long ago on PSP.

Biggest5154d ago (Edited 5154d ago )

I wouldn't call them stupid for skipping on a 360 version. The sales of FFXIII on the 360 weren't up to the 360s usual big game standards. Kingdom Hearts is Disney plus little kid heroes. They'd be stupid to make a 360 version.

@Natsu below

I don't doubt the possibility of Kingdom Hearts on the Wii. It fits that demographic to the letter. But that also depends on what they're putting into the game. If it is a next-gen game, the Wii won't be able to do it properly. The spin-off would seem more obvious ala Metal Gear Solid. But a full game that works on the Wii and PS3 simultaneously? I don't know about that.

Natsu X FairyTail5154d ago

-_-

that's exactly why I'm saying KH3 might end up on Nintendo Wii.

But there's 2 other KH games beside KH3.

and if Disney and Square-Enix arent stupid they'll probably release a KH spinoff ala MGS:Rising on Xbox360 and PS3.

It's so obvious to see god damn.

badz1495153d ago (Edited 5153d ago )

as long as it's not Wii exclusive! I don't have a Wii and despise that damn thing, so please, not Wii exclusive and 1 more thing, please no gimped version! make it a multiplat if you must but don't gimp any version because of it! *end of prayer*

vhero5153d ago

He is obviously talking about how well the game sells considering its exclusivity and this is almost confirmation of ps3 exclusivity.

Palodios5153d ago (Edited 5153d ago )

@Sakura
Didn't we learn anything from E3 2008? Square won't be making its big games exclusives anymore because from a financial standpoint it makes no sense. None of the games Microsoft bought were really big games, besides Star Ocean, which ended on the ps3 anyway. They're considering porting FF14 to the 360, and the only reason Versus is staying exclusive is likely because of a contract with Sony that they won't be able to break.

Unless someone wrote a 100 million dollar check(because that's how much Square would lose from keeping a game like this exclusive) KH3 will be coming to next generation consoles. That means PS3/360 and maybe the wii too. Square loves money, and that's their best way to make tons of it.

@ vhero
The versus comment meant Square doesn't have the resources to devote to both projects at the same time, so they will probably won't have a full team working on KH3 until after they're done with Versus.

raztad5153d ago

Agree with vhero.

However FFXIIIVS may easily end up being a 2011 title, so KH3 would be a 2012 game!! thats a LONG wait for a game.

goflyakite5153d ago (Edited 5153d ago )

woot!!

Hopefully Versus does very well as an exclusive so Nomura continues to stick with the PS3.

KH3 can't wait!

Kingdom Hearts 3 will be a PS3 exclusive.

Bnet3435154d ago

I hope so, but I would not be surprised if it was a Wii exclusive. Just look at Dragon Quest IX and X.

Dance5154d ago

Just like final Fantasy 13

BeaArthur5154d ago

We all knew KH3 was coming but it's nice to have it confirmed.

Dance5154d ago

Will it be for the handhelds or PS3/360?

R_19935153d ago

I'm 99.99% sure it'll be on consoles. The previous 2 KH titles were on home consoles, so don't expect the main series to go anywhere else.

N1ko5154d ago

All I want is for KH3 to come out....and be a PS3 exclusive.

Final Fantasy XVI Has Finally Given Donald Duck A Worthy Opponent

For a long time, it's been widely accepted amongst Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts fans that Donald Duck is the most powerful mage ever to exist, mainly due to his use of the stupidly powerful Zettaflare spell towards the end of Kingdom Hearts 3. This spell is one step up from Teraflare, a spell which was used in Final Fantasy XIV that was so powerful that it completely wiped out the base game, giving the developers a canonical reason to let them bin everything and start again from scratch.

Now you're armed with this information, you can see how it was pretty surprising for Donald Duck of all characters to bust out Zettaflare and establish himself as the most powerful character in Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts lore. However, now that Final Fantasy XVI has arrived and delivered a whole new cast of characters, a new challenger has arrived to provide Donald with some much needed competition.

Final Fantasy's Strongest Canonical Magic User Is... Donald Duck?

Final Fantasy features many strong characters, but an unlikely character from Kingdom Hearts is able to cast the most powerful spell ever seen

gold_drake359d ago

that was pretty amazing, not gonna lie, i might have shed a tear or too, just cause of pure awesomeness.

he was already my favourite disney character and one of my favs from KH and then to see that amazing spell too. aah so good xD

Final Fantasy's strongest magic user is Donald Duck, who never appears in a final fantasy game.

This Kingdom Hearts Boss' Unpredictability Gave Me Sekiro Vibes

Kingdom Hearts is filled with otherworldly boss battles, but only one stands out like a phoenix dancing with ethereal grace across the night sky. Before we embark upon a discussion concerning Kingdom Hearts' exceptional boss battles, it may be prudent to first reflect on the evolution of the criteria for appraising video game bosses. This criterion has undergone a major metamorphosis over the past decade; one that owes much to the profound influence of From Software and its iconic Souls series.

"Yozora is much more than a grueling secret encounter; he is a reflection of what Kingdom Hearts' bosses should be"

No thank you. If every boss in Kingdom Hearts was like Yozora, the series would be unplayable. That's not to say that they shouldn't include such challenges, but making them fundamental to the game would be too much. And don't say that this is what the From Software games are, because Yozora is absolutely harder than most of the bosses in those games. He is waaay faster, has a ludicrous number of abilities (and does them in random order AND can chain most of them together), and punishes you severely if you make a mistake. On top of that, you have to survive this onslaught for a really long time because of how much health he has. It's borderline too much - for me at least. Still, it's a stunning battle.

OMNlPOTENT370d ago

I agree, while I do really enjoy the Yozora fight, I think it's far too difficult to be anything more than an optional boss. However, I do believe that there should be more bosses that are in the same weight and size class as Sora, as the majority of those in KH3 were the best fights. The giant heartless bosses just aren't as enjoyable.
