Welcome to Replika. That's the headline of the first and (at the time of writing) only developer diary post. Recently announced is Portugal-based developer Biodroid Productions' PSN title that is currently in development. The game is described as an "action/strategy hybrid cyberpunk adventure" that stars a female protagonist. It will be a PS3-exclusive downloadable title.

Replika is a hybrid of an action/strategy game with a cyberpunk setting, which features puzzle solving, world exploration, stealth based combat, and a dense storyline. You play as Replika, a cyborg who is starting to question her existence as she helps rebels battle the tyranny of the Volgan Empire."

Getting a Battle Angel Alita vibe from the art and concept, and that is a great thing.
I think they should call it something unique and as original as the concept maybe something like oh I dont know.... bladerunner?
DualShockers: As we promised yesterday, we now have for you the world premiere trailer for Replika, the new action/strategy title from Biodroid, which will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation Network. Up until this point, we haven’t heard a whole lot about it, but we do know that it will feature stereoscopic 3D. I’m personally a huge fan of the “cyberpunk” aesthetic the game has going on, so I’m quite looking forward to getting a glimpse of it. All we learnt was there is a character in the game... coupled with a few dodgy text overlays of generic storyline. A terrible trailer - but that's nothing to judge the game on yet.
For some reason, this teaser made me suspect the art style of this game will be very much like Ergo Proxy:

I saw all of Ergo proxy and twas interesting @ first, but as the episodes went on, it dragged and failed to make any sense.
But that Replika girl did remind me of Riel from Ergo Proxy.
Yeah, it seems to drag on, but each episode subtly (or not-so-subtly) provides an analogous event to ancient Greek philosophies, so I appreciated it for that.
Also, the art style is very reminiscent of Ghost in the Shell too.

That is why it is called a teaser not a trailer. Website needs to sort it.
Lets see what we can get out of this one anyway though. Just for kicks.
Storyline amnesia based, as said. Pirate type music playing during the part of it that had a flying flag may indicate pirates as some main story feature. The few scenes at the end looked kind of cyberpunk. Also the girl looked to be using some kind of energy powers. Lastly the name Replika indicates that the game will be based around something that copies are made from.
With all that in mind I think this game will be a third or first person (probably third to show off the female lead) stealth based action adventure game. Set in a cyberpunk universe where your character is female android or genetically designed clone (probably an android) maybe both.
She will be mostly based around a thief but will have some energy powers that are used to elevate the action. The main character will probably find out that she's a prototype or special version or something which will effect her profoundly sending her off on a journey of self discovery and heroism. The overarching plot will probably be about freeing or in some way liberating or saving the other replikants who will be slaves or prisoners or in death camps or something.
Who wants to bet I'm pretty right? If they had any astounding new and fresh gameplay features they would show them in the trailer. Unless it's something they did by accident and aren't aware of.

you can just about detail a plot from the teaser trailers esoteric information with a probability of 90%.
That was alot more communistic than pirate if you ask me. Especially the text looked Sovjet Russia.
So she is probably some kind of weapon (like Wolverine) from the 50's Sovjet Russia.
Not alot of teasers in general show gameplay to begin with. They just "tease" the game, and show that it's coming out. Remember Crysis 2's teaser trailer?

Trailers like that shouldn't exist. It reminded me of the Duke Nukem Trilogy trailer from Apogee years ago.

“action/strategy cyberpunk adventure game” ? That's quite a mouth-full, but sounds interesting enough. Like you said though, practically nothing is known about this so I guess we'll find out tomorrow!
It's the developers first game. An exclusive PS3 title too? Hopefully Sony will spread some of their first-party expertise their way and make sure Replika meets the mark of a PS3 exclusive.

It seemed interesting to me back when I first heard about it, so I'm anxious to see the trailer.
Let's see if this thing delivers. I hope 3D wasn't the whole thing behind it and the game has actual substance.
