Yusuke Naora, Art Director of Final Fantasy Agito XIII, gives a status update on the development of the upcoming PSP game.
"Square Enix’s “Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Extended Talk Show” will begin shortly.
The live stream, as its name suggests, is an extended version of the “Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Talk Show” from the Tokyo Game Show. And unlike its name suggests, it will cover not only Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, but Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy Agito, as well."-Gematsu
New details:
- Holding defend to evade drains MP, doesn't last forever.
- The attack button is used for basic combos, weapons used are context driven based on equipped weapons and context settings the player selects.
- The skill button is used to do special attacks for the main weapon equipped.
- There will be advanced evasion and attack techniques depending on equipment and control input.
- You can use the sword barrier defensively in battle, you can do short warps in the battlefield, you can parry attacks.
- There will be lots of tactical aspects in battle for core games, like elemental weaknesses and so on.
- Noctis is the only playable character, but his unique combat style and how the party interacts with him in battles is what drives the entire battle system.
Final Fantasy Union: "This is a question that has been asked by Western gamers for quite a few years now, but we still sit no closer to having an answer than we did when Final Fantasy Agito XIII was first announced during E3 2006. Yes, you heard me, it has been that long since the fated announcement of the Fabula Nova Crystallis franchise.
A lot has happened since then. We have, of course, now seen the release of Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII (under the guise of Final Fantasy Type-0). We have also seen the release of Final Fantasy XIII sequels, in the form of Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, as well as the recent release of Final Fantasy Agito as it was originally intended."
In recent years, the Final Fantasy series on PlayStation systems has been somewhat quiet in terms of new releases, but 2013 changes all that by bringing us the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. - PSLS
Never been a fan of the series but I do wonder how the sales figures went throughout the series.
Sounds good to me, yeah, but one thing, yeah, thought I was comin 'ere for a release date!
Any of you scrawny delinquents, yeah, you guys, YEAH, know when Macho Man will see this game on the shelves? OR how about Versus XIII yeah!
Gimme the facts!
DIG IT!
If only this game dont suffer from all these things FFXIII suffer, things the fans keep repeating the last days, then might be a reason to buy a PSP, I believe that they can do much better job with Agito and the reason is the graphics, simply put FFXIII was poor and miss much because it was hard as Kitase say to make them on a HD console (if that's really the reason.. or lazy devs) so in Agito they can make towns, world map, give freedom to ppl for more exploration put some secrets and minigames and make it exactly how an FF game must be to carry the name.
I plan to buy a PSP for FFVII:CC and some other JRPG classics like Star Ocean 1,2 also Lunar & Valkyrie Profile games that didn't have the opportunity to play until now, so I hope this will be good to add it on my future collection :)
I actually have faith in Agito, expecting it to be a very addicting game. I'm a bit worried about the soundtrack though (Ishimoto)...
Have they revealed that yet? Is it turnbased? Card Based? Tactic’s style?
For exmaple the forest looks like a corridor with copied the same trees around everywhere, every area looks same in all its spots, the designer of the in game levels is a joke IMO and shoud be fired right away
