Making decisions in games that effect how the story plays out is nothing new, but is something that is becoming more and more common. This is obviously a good thing, since you get more game play for your money. Take the recent Heavy Rain for example, it's not a long game, but then with so many possibilities the experience can be a different one each time. This is the path that Way of the Samurai 3 has taken, offering a short story where each play through will turn out different depending on the choices you make. However, the main decision to be made with Way of the Samurai 3 is if it is worthy of your hard earned cash.
