GameZone's Dakota Grabowski writes,
"So what say you? Do you have what it takes to become a dragon trainer? If so, How to Train Your Dragon is right up your alley then. As a licensed title, it looks brilliant with lush colors and a unique fantasy setting that not many other games are approaching. There's a high level of depth packaged into How to Train Your Dragon that hasn't been seen in a licensed children's title for quite some time. The development team even has stat-tracking in four separate areas with dozens of stats categorized in each, so there's a lot of attention spent on longevity of the single-player campaign."
"For this Movie Magic Monday, we are taking a look at how many hours have been reported trying to train dragons!
How to Train Your Dragon was released for the Wii on March 23, 2010, just a few days before the movie it was based on. Surprisingly (to me anyway), this movie tie-in game was developed by Etranges Libellules, the same studio that developed the last Movie Magic Monday game we looked at, but it was published by Activision. The game received an ESRB rating of "EVERYONE 10+" with "Fantasy Violence" listed as content for parents and gamers to be aware of.
About how many U.S. Wii owners have gameplay data reported and how many hours have been reported playing How to Train Your Dragon, since it released just over 3 years ago? Brew yourself some coffee, and let's take a look!", writes CoffeeWithGames.
How to Train Your Dragon was a great movie, but how did the Wii/DS versions of the game turn out? Check out Pure Nintendo's review to find out.
Loot Ninja writes: "I haven’t seen the movie but I volunteered to play this game and give it a review. I didn’t have a very good attitude going in, in truth I kind of dreaded it. With that said, the game pretty much met my expectations but I did have a bit of fun. It wasn’t great but I could see how it would appeal to the right people. It just was not my cup of tea."
movie comes out next week, so it should sell adequately well for Activision -- and they need it!
Not so sure that kids movie games are still selling the same as they used to. Will be interesting to see though.
good read
This could be a big hit or miss...they have good elements for a kids game. I'm interested to see.
Could work for Activision but I dunno, I'm hoping after the stunt they pulled with IW, they get screwed every which way.
