IGN: Hard Grip First Look

Here at GDC IGN is seeing a lot of games that have a long ways to go. One of the promising concepts they got to demo was Human Soft Inc's rock climbing game, Hard Grip. It combines everything people love about rock climbing, like beautiful views, and removes the whole going outside and risking death thing.

TeamXbox: Hard Grip First-Look Preview

TeamXbox writes: "Human Soft seems to get it. The company, which has offices in San Diego, California, and Hungary, knows after about 16 years of working on game products, that it's good to strike while the iron is hot. Gabor Kadas, Human Soft's president/CEO, would like to take advantage of what the game industry hopes is a wealth of motion-control products, similar to what we've seen on the diminutive Wii."

Gamespot: HardGrip Hands-On

Gamespot writes: "Rock climbing might not be the most obvious sport to replicate on all three major motion controller systems, but that's what developer HumanSoft is attempting to do with HardGrip. The game was being shown in early form at GDC 10, allowing us to try it out using the standard Wii Remote controller. The game is also touted to support Wii Motion Plus, Project Natal on Xbox 360, and Move on PlayStation 3."

Not at all surprised to see developers working in this way - get it out on Wii, then polish it for release on Arc and Natal.

that seems stupid. using the nintendo market as test dummys will only set the hd market to fail.

watch it not work out the other way though. thats gonna piss me off. the re4 effect i call it. re4= the greatest but capcom used and abused the nintendo audience and used them as test dummies for a game capcom thought would fail. yet when they dont use nintendo to test and port to hd systems and give no love to the wii with a wii vers it just didnt go as successful as re4.

This does not bode well for the motion games for ps3 and 360. First confirmed title is a throwaway wiiware title. Have either companies revealed ANYTHING that looks worthwhile yet/ ... and no Milo does not count at all.

Totally agree! Is this the start of what we've all been fearing since Natal and PS3 Motion-Controller were first announced? Probably.
