Game Informer writes: "With Civ IV being such a complete package, fans were unsurprised but definitely curious when 2K announced that Civilization V was on the way. Our own curiosity has gotten the best of us and so we tracked down Dennis Shirk, the game's producer to find out what's up. Anyone who's a fan of Civilization will be quite curious to find out how they have improved on a game that felt so fulfilling. Shirk talks about the new user interface, modder support, fresh combat approach and even addresses the age-old question of why a spearman can take down a modern tank."

Philip Boyes:
When I was a kid, I played a lot of Civilization 2. I played a lot of strategy games in general, but having a deep love of both history and sci-fi, the epic sweep of Civ 2 from prehistory to the stars held a particular appeal. I loved taking my little people from their huts and ziggurats to the world of science and advanced space-flight.
