Ragnarok is the DS adaptation of the popular (and rather aged) MMORPG Ragnarok Online. The game is replicated almost pixel for pixel, with some exceptions in the world maps and towns. This graphical style includes 3D backgrounds with 2D sprites for enemies and characters. It's not a huge feat, considering the simplicity of this style, but it's still nice to see that the cute and colorful feel of the game wasn't altered or lost. There's something lovable about detailed, sprite-based graphics that you just can't get in 3D.

Alas, that's just what XSeed and Gravity tried to do with Ragnarok DS, and the results are expectedly atrocious.
Ragnarok DS is a spin-off of the MMO Ragnarok Online, and I hope for the sake of the game's community that the full-fledged online game is more entertaining than its DS counterpart. This version features a paucity of locales, insultingly insipid quests and more boring level-grinding than even a typically obsessive RPG gamer would be willing to handle."
Although this may not have worked with the DS, can you imagine if Blizzard released a handheld WOW? That'd be AMAZING
