GTA V announcement coming before E3?

Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey commented that "there is building suspension for a pre-E3 GTA V announcement, although we expect nothing from Rockstar at this year's official E3 event".

GTA is one of those franchises that's so huge that Rockstar doesn't even need to do it at E3; Rockstar and Take-Two could hold their own event and announce the title in the days leading right up to E3, when many publishers often do hold separate press events.

I just want to see footage of Agent!

Cajun Chicken5186d ago

I was thinking of something a while ago. What happens, theoretically if Agent just turns out to be like Manhunt? Not gamewise, I just mean, not as wholly impressive or rebellious as GTA as a series is.

Anyway, I'm sort of excited for Agent, but kind of worried for it too, but it is Rockstar North, so y'know, could be excellent and should be. Again Manhunt was made by Rockstar North too.

Ombre5186d ago

I think we should wait for at least one screenshot before worrying or not.

kaveti66165185d ago

A screenshot says very little about a game. Gameplay, story, pacing, these things are what made GTA San Andreas great and where GTA IV failed somewhat. And if you judged the two games based solely on screenshots, GTA IV would come out as the winner. So, screenshots don't matter. Graphics don't matter.

I bet Next GTA is PS3 Exclusive

HSx95185d ago

Rockstar usually never reveals their games in E3s, they like to keep it a secret.

Shang-Long5185d ago

i wouldn't bet on it. but i could see why you would from some of the statements rock star made before

jib5185d ago

is take2 the publisher for GTAV?

RememberThe3575185d ago

R* better get RDR running well on all machines, then they better announce a PS 3 exclusive GTA V anything else would be lame.

better not be overhyped like GTA IV

GiantEnemyCrab5186d ago

R* does have several studios but with Agent, LA Noire and potentially GTA V that is a lot to have on the plate.

I hope they all get the love and attention they deserve. I'd rather have one excellent R* game than 3 mediocre ones.

TheBand1t5185d ago

You forgot Red Dead Redemption.

RememberThe3575185d ago (Edited 5185d ago )

Completely agree. Rockstar is a pretty big company but a GTA game is a pretty big game as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the was announced but I wouldn't expect to see it for a few years.

washingmachine5185d ago

hope they can fix up the graphics this time, abit to jaggie last time lol

Lirky5185d ago

rockstar haves alot coming out red dead redemption erm.. episodic ps3 dlcs and Agent.

Gta V is a long ways away so even if they announce the area and vehicles etc. itll overshadow agent, gta iv dlcs, and red dead redemption. And ppl will want to hear more about gta v rather than focus on the other rockstar thingies.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing6922d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos22d ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Demetrius21d ago

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy8522d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius21d ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
