Activision Terminates Fan-Made King's Quest Extension

Owen Good at Kotaku writes: "The team of King's Quest enthusiasts who had, since 2002, been working on an unofficial continuation of the seminal adventure game, have complied with a demand by Activision to cease all development of their game."

I for one am sorry for the fans that wanted to make a fun little new King's Quest game. I hope all there work does not go to waste and can turn it into there own IP instead. I would have loved to have played a new King's Quest even if it was not official. So this really blows. I so wish more game developers would make Adventure games. So to hear that even an unofficial King's Quest game was getting made then now has to be canceled sucks.

That series was one of my all time favorite game series as a kid, and now it's in the money-grubbing hands of Activision? Well, if Activision wasn't on my **** list before, they definitely are now.

Assholes! I really hate them now. Ken and Roberta shouldn't have sold Sierra in the first place.

I agree with you. King's Quest series was the best adventure games ever!

I think it's entirely out of order that Activision stopped this fan project, And so close to it's completion. These Designers have been working for a long time to bring this game out and Activison just turn round and say no. Whats wrong Activision? Ruined Modern Warfare 2 so you ruin everyone elses games aswel.
