I'm surprised by how little Dead Space Extraction is being reported.
Has anybody played Dead Space: Extraction and compared it to the other two?

SpoonyRedMage5189d ago

I have all three, my personal ranking would be Overkill>Extraction>Dark side Chronicles but it's easy to see why Darkside Chronicles is getting more play time, it's sold about 5 times more than Extraction.

I'm not too sure but I think the ratio between Darkside Chronicles and Extraction is about the same as Resi 5 and Dead Space(not sure).

CoffeewithChess5189d ago

I'm not sure how RE:TDC has sold compared to DS:E. The only think we can tell from these numbers is that RE:TDC had 3,121 more players reporting data than DS:E did this week.

Also, RE:TDC is still at its original MSRP, while DS:E has seen a price drop, as well as HOTD:O.

Thanks for the feedback!

readiandnot5189d ago

YOu think RE:TDC is the lowest quality rail shooter out of these three?
Is it bad? Or okay? Is it worth a play-through, or not even worth a rental?

SpoonyRedMage5188d ago

Nice for Resident Evil fans but it's too plot focused and the camera is terrible, worth one playthrough. Buy it cheap if you can or rent but I don't think it was worth it's asking price.

I like the way you have the "rail" shooters compared to each other now. Good stuff.

CoffeewithChess5189d ago

I'm going to try and keep the games into closer categories with each other, except Nintendo's big three games from 2009(at least the three I thought were the biggest).

statfreak5189d ago

Structure is nice. Maybe you can branch out and do direct comparisons with other groups.

readiandnot5189d ago

Own any of these, though I would give Resident Evil a try.

hardcorez5189d ago

Now these are what I call hardcore games! More of this please!

Thanks for sending me this. House of the Dead: Overkill actually won a World Record for it's dialogue, which I thought was absolutely crazy.

CoffeewithChess5189d ago

House of the Dead: Overkill's world record is the main reason I don't want to play the game.
I wish there was a "content filter" like Call of Duty: World at War has on the Wii.

BLG writes: "Dead Space. It’s a beloved horror series – one that yours truly can’t stop talking about on stream! Yet there are more Dead Space games than you may be aware of. So it’s my duty to introduce you to the best Dead Space games, and one very, very bad one. It’s time to grab a plasma cutter, cut off the limbs of terrifying necromorphs, and decide once and for all (on this website) which of the Dead Space games reigns supreme!"

Dead Space Extraction better than the original Dead Space?

Okaaaaay...

lucian229652d ago

I played all three. Didn't find them fun, just had nothing to play. I don't think I beat third game though. Combat was super clunky, graphics and art design were ugly imo, story in first game wasn't too bad, rest were meh.

Over hyped series imo, also it doesn't help horror games don't scare me, so I guess that's a big reason for me too.

MIDGETonSTILTS17652d ago

Play Alien Isolation on Hard or Nightmare.

Start on the movie DLC so that you don’t have to play a bunch of campaign in order to find out if you’ll be scared.

lucian229652d ago

I heard that was a good one. Honestly vr games scare me with jump scares because of how the threat feels real.

MIDGETonSTILTS17652d ago

There isn’t an official VR mode, unfortunately.

The audio should pull you right in if you use headphones.

CDbiggen652d ago

Just finished playing the first, enjoyed the fact Isaac was a silent alien crushing psycho doom-guy type. Just started the second yesterday and I'm annoyed he's a talker now and sounds like a regular guy who hasn't been through hell, but I suppose he couldn't remain silent.

VersusDMC652d ago

Dead Space 2 is my favorite followed by 1 then 3. All are good to me though. Just beat all 3 on series X and they hold up.

Xenial652d ago

As simple as 1,2,3.

Extraction, then Ignition.

Code veronica
the most difficult RE ever

2pacalypsenow1930d ago

Hell yeah it is.

That tyrant on the plane bit is a pain.

ButchKween1930d ago

That was my 1st entry into the series and yes it's very hard but so rewarding. If you don't play it right you can't actually progress If you're low on ammo 4 boss fight on plane or final boss. or if u don't leave ammo for the 2nd character later in the game in item box. I found that out the hard way. Just FYI even though Claire's the main character you play Chris for the final boss fight you better make sure there's enough items for him in the Box or you are fu@#$d

2pacalypsenow1930d ago

Fun fact, Code Veronica is actually the sequel to 2 and RE3 is a spin-off

IRetrouk1930d ago

Originally yes, it was going to be a spin off with a different lead, they changed it to Jill to tie it into the series and made it a companion title to 2 instead, cv is a sequel to both lol
