BrightHub writes: To most casual gamers, achievement points are of little consequence, but for some hardcore gamers, they represent a marker of their gaming ability.
The quest for achievements have launched countless sites dedicated to the sole purpose of adding up the points whether through skill and dedication or cheat, glitches and shortcuts.
I am not ashamed anymore of some of the great lengths I have gone to in order to collect as many points as possible. These are just some examples of the lengths I have gone to up my gamerscore.
When a military computer makes an error, it can be catastrophic. When your Internet browser makes an error, it's fucking annoying. But when a video game makes an error ... well, that's a completely different situation. Because let's face it, the hilarious results can be even better than the game the developers were trying to create.
We love achievements and trophies here at Megabits, so much so that we devote every Tuesday to talking about them. Nevertheless, not every point of Gamerscore is worth having. Check out the five achievements that say bad things about you:
Tsch. I aint ashamed of my DoAX2 achievements. One word to any woman that I got 'Complete Collection'...let's just say I aint gonna be lonely that night.
Every time I see an article with shameful in the title Dead or Alive is almost always in there.
Eat Lead trophy is lame, but I enjoyed the game. A lot of smart remarks towards other games, it made it fun.
The 30 year dynasty is actually not bad. All you have to do is simulate every season. I have my real dynasty and I started one just to simulate and do that. No one actually does the 30 year dynasty. It gets far too boring when there is no real players anymore. The most I've legitimately done is 10 years and then I start over.
GameDynamo - "With the NBA and NHL seasons nearing the finals, baseball picking up, and a labor dispute in the NFL, I got to thinking: what are the best representations of sports in video gaming? EA Sports blazed a trail in the 90s with sports games that were no longer filled with fat little cartoon players and instead focused on realism and simulation of the real thing. Basketball games started having full rosters and season modes, the historic Madden franchise focused on realism, and so on. So, in 2011, what five games have really nailed down a video game experience that is comparable to the game on the field? This was the hardest list to compile because there are a lot of worthy games out there, but we did our best!"
That picture absolutely rules.
Great article! thanks
After the XBL thing...and no every game has me running around getting addicted to those darned achievements. At least it improves replay value.
Nice read.
Awesome article. And so true too.
