VG247: Nintendo's just announced an April 23 release date for Monster Hunter Tri in Europe, as well as a May 7 release for Sin and Punishment 2.
What's the best Monster Hunter of all time? In a series where half of the titles have the word 'Ultimate' fixed on the end, it can be a difficult decision to make. NL are not averse to difficult decisions though, so have taken it upon theirselves to rank every single Monster Hunter game (yes, even the non-Nintendo ones) to determine which is the very best.
First world problems all up in here, but that makes this gaming dilemma no less stressing.
The third generation of Monster Hunter drags the series back to western shores because well, why not? In fact you could say that three really has been the magic number. Unless you live in Japan in which case one and two were also pretty fantastic and if anything three has been nothing short of a crushing disappointment.
‘But wait!’ Voletic hears you scream, ‘Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has been recently announced, why are you addressing the third iteration?’ Because background knowledge is a beautiful thing and Voletic has a word count to fill.
My problem with MH is the slow paced and plain combat system, if they make it more dynamic count me in.
They need a full console release, launch the CryEngine one for PC for PS4/XO. And make sure to bring it stateside.
Christ! Wth SMG2, RS2,Other M,NMH2 and now these two finally surfacing out here this spring/summer the Wii is joning the race to bankrupt me!
Sadly, this year's already seen some "must buys" turn into hurried rentals and with March looking impossible to mange without leaving it with a backlog on PS3 and 360 releases like SC:C,AW and Reach looming inot view alongside the killer multis like FF13, RDR, Bio2 et al it's getting a little crazy with no chance of a lull to catch up anytime soon!
I've already got Fragile to come, FFCB and Tales to play on Wii this quarter, barely started NSMBWii and the avalanche just gains in speed every single day. I just don't recall a time like it for quality AND quantity and even if many have sad they'll be skint by years end I think the industry should now get why people NEED to be able to resell and buy games preowned and rent a lot of titles. It really is getting silly and because we in the EU have also had games delayed from last year it's even worse for us in the UK/EU right now with BB and others arriving soon too!
Christ on a bike!So many SP campaigns to get through for me that my woeful MAG ranking and, when it comes BFBC2 are going to both suffer long periods of inactivity in the online arena!I'd LOVE to play some Fifa or U2 online as well but, right now, it remains a dream as I struggle to get through a couple of purchases and a couple of rents every single week!Way too much of a good thing? I think so when some amazing games just aren't going to get either the playtime or sales they prolly deserve because of the most mental release schedule in gaming history.
I haven't even mentioned the PC titles I'll get(AVP is way better on PC imo and Metro33 is a great looking PC game(seems a good deal improved over the 360 version from what I'm told and have seen)and the promise of pad support makes it a must for me at some point(around autumn 2020 at this rate).I, also, haven't touched on the handheld games we've got in the pipeline(portable Persona FTW!)and there's the usual jrpg fest going on alongside the incredible Peacewalker goodness coming our way.
Madness and destitute gamers abound!
This year is going to be great for wii games, 1st and 3rd party.
