NSMBW is up there in the hours! 21 hours per person played? That's crazy for a game with no online on the Wii. People must really be playing NSMBW.

statfreak5194d ago

It's probably the local multiplayer and completionists collecting all the star coins.

readiandnot5194d ago

Probably so. I don't even own the game. I just know that people were saying there wasn't a lot of replay value to it, that's why I was surprised by the time.

hardcorez5194d ago

the game doesn't deserve those type of hours.

No online multiplayer.
No online leaderboards.

Stop dumping your buckets of negativity on the Wii stories, I'm going to stop sending you the links to them. New Super Mario Bros. Wii is an extremely fun game, and one if I recall correctly you don't even own. If you would get off your PS3, and purchase New Super Mario Bros. Wii, maybe you would see why this game is doing well. My wife and I beat the game together and it was an absolute blast playing it together.
BTW Readi, thanks for submitting this over!

No problem man! I think your prediction is definitely going to come true in the article.

Goodbye New Mario, I Won't Miss You

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the first Mario 2D game in almost two decades without the New Super Mario art style, and it looks all the better for it

Am I missing something? It looks exactly the same, just higher resolution… Is this sarcasm?

specialguest324d ago

Yes, you're not observant if you think it looks exactly the same. It immediately appeared different to me from the start. Mario's 3D model will always be the same, so not much difference there. However, the animation they've given the Super Mario Wonder makes it look more like a CGI Mario animation where as the New Mario Bros game looks more like typical video game animation movements

__SteakDeck__323d ago

@specialguest Yeah those animations are insane.

FinalFantasyFanatic324d ago

You really didn't notice the difference? It's really obvious, I was surprised when I first saw the trailer.

Asplundh323d ago

"Am I missing something?"

Your glasses maybe?

Juancho51324d ago

This Mario game looks great, getting a switch for this and Mario RPG. CANT WAIT, TITS JACKED.

Profchaos323d ago

Yeah I liked how much more emotion could be conveyed through the new style at first glance I didn't see much difference but then rewatching the trailer I'm seeing more and more animations that remind me of the Mario artwork from the manual of smb3

Outlawzz323d ago

I hated the new super Mario bros Style. This new one seems a lot more expressive and less generic. I hope it's a good game

shinoff2183323d ago

I prefer the 2d Mario's. Me and my girl have played them all together and mario galaxy , Mario odyssey. The 2nd player option is extremely eh

Because we all miss accidentally throwing our Wiimotes at the TV, so let's throw some Joy-Cons.

VR is the same way, wrist straps for a reason.

Neonridr853d ago

I loved the golf from Wii Sports Resort.

Cuzizkool853d ago

I was always confused by Nintendo’s decision to kill the franchise. “Super” stayed with Mario titles even after the Super Nintendo. They can still use the Wii name. Hell it’s been so long that releasing a new one, or even an HD remaster, will tap into that nostalgia market.

DazaMc852d ago

Super Mario launched on the NES not the Super NES.

septemberindecember852d ago

Super was never because of the Super Nintendo. Super Mario Bros launched on the NES. The Super is because it's an indirect sequel to Mario Bros.

They can just call it Nintendo Sports or something, but using the Wii name would be a bit confusing.

Bigman4k852d ago

Yeah i agree but i don't think Nintendo will be bringing wii sports to the Nintendo Switch samething goes for diddykong racing
