5 Wii Games To Dominate E3

Despite its vast lead in the so-called console war, Nintendo is often ignored by core gamers because a perceived lack of 'hardcore' games. Not this year. The big N is battling Sony and Microsoft to win back the gamers, and here's how.

I wouldn't expect to see Sin & Punishment 2 at E3, since it will (hopefully) be released in North America before then. The same might be true of Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Certainly Zelda Wii will be displayed prominently at E3 though.

I highly doubt that any of these games will do anything for the hardcore gamers. Also, isn't Galaxy 2 suppossed to come out b4 E3?

First three, sure.

The last two...I can understand why they were listed, but there could very well be quite a few more heavy hitters. Last Story? Xenoblade? Retro's secret project? Pikmin 3? The long-rumored Kid Icarus?

First three are no brainers but the last two could be reserved for something unknown..like say Retro's Project? and another Classic Nintendo IP or maybe third parties might want to get in the action finally?

"Im sorry but the Wii has already lost the gamers." Really? I'm a gamer. I have lots of gaming friends. We have Wiis. We play Zelda, Mario, Metroid, all that good stuff. Every other week we get together and take a break from TF2, CSS, L4D2, and have major 32 man SSB:Brawl competitions. And these are guys that play for clans and in comps. These are the heavy gamers. So Nintendo has lost it's "core" gamer huh?

The only people Nintendo has lost since the N64/GameCube days, are the graphics hounds, hype machines and blood lusting teens who don't mean much to gaming anyway.

Most of these "toony" and "kiddy" games that are on the Wii that all of the "cores" just have to hate, had similar games like that on Nintendo's previous consoles. The only difference is that they are using motion controls, which people seem not to care about now that it's going to the HD twins. 7_7

Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metriod: Other M, and Zelda Wii will make a huge impact this year.

Nintendo won't be taking 3rd place this E3.

zelda is the only game there that will, sims suk, mario galaxy too is nothing special its basically mario galaxy with yoshi ( ilove yoshi ) but nothing to special, metroid M lol its basically ninja gaiden look at the moves and style thats not metroid.

As much as I hate to admit it, I fear you may be right about Other M. That is, by far, my biggest fear for anything game related this year. Going by the trailer, there is going to be a lot of combat in Other M. Except Metroid isnt about combat. Much less close quarters combat as what the trailer depicted. Its about exploration through unique platforming segments with occasional puzzles or tight, frantic combat. And another thing, all metroid games have amazing-no, PHENOMENAL art styles and beautiful graphics. The worlds and atmosphere wouldnt come to life if it werent for that. Other M, in terms of graphics and art, doesnt speak to me like Super Metroid did or the amazing Prime series. Damn it Nintendo, I wouldnt be scared at all if they didnt give the game to the average Team Ninja (truthfully, all development teams' work are average compared to what metroid is...)

The only 2D metroid I played was Super Metroid, and I totally feel that the sense of atmosphere and exploration was the most prevalent part of the game. At least, it was what resonated with me the most.

swiftshot93 -- The Prime trilogy was more about exploration with sporadic enemies tossed in, but not the classic 2D Metroid games. Super Metroid is basically "run, jump, shoot, rinse and repeat." It's full of action.

However, it's not full of the type of physical action the trailer shows.

But this one is under the eyes of Sakamoto. The guy that directed Super Metroid. If there's anyone we can trust with Metroid, it's him.

If you AREN'T blind, you'd see that SMG2 has different enemies, different stages and different items (big spinning top anyone?). As for Other M. While it has some mechanics from NG, that won't instantly make it "Ninja Metroid" (lol).... As you can see Other M is MOSTLY a fast 3rd person shooter. The enemies, different blasters and abilities will make Other M a completely different game. To say otherwise, is like saying "all first person games are the same".

Obviously the style isn't the same, but was Metroid Prime 1, 2 and 3 the same?
Just wait and see what the game is like. 7_7
