The story of Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island was created by Bill Tiller of Monkey Island fame, so of course a lot of wit and a relaxed pacing are expected to be drawn from the script. After the somewhat confused and overwhelming opening the story begins to evolve at a reasonable pace, but only through cut-scenes. While the player may draw some background detail from their interactions with non-player characters (NPCs), there's never any indication that you're actually progressing the game by doing so.
The adventure genre hasn’t been the most focused genre over the past decade. While the recent revitalization of the Monkey Island series injected life into the field, it’s hard to come across any modern adventure game, let alone a good one. With that in mind, German developers Autumn Moon Entertainment has delivered Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island; a lengthy adventure through a pirate world filled with mystery and treachery starring three playable pirate protagonists that is on the lackluster end of the balance beam.

Last year, Telltale Games, made up in part of former LucasArts adventure game team members, released its five part revival of the classic Monkey Island series. Oddly enough another developer made up of former LucasArts team members, Autumn Moon Entertainment, released its own adventure game in 2009, Ghost Pirates of Voojo Island.
So why haven't you heard about this game? Because it was released in Germany, where the PC adventure game industry is still pretty strong. It was also released in the UK in February 2010. However the GameStop web site has posted up word that ValuSoft has plans to release the game to retail stores in the US on August 30.
Never heard of it, might check it out because it's an adventure game and there aren't enough of those
