GamerNode: The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom Review

When Matt Korba and Paul Belleza were just a couple of fresh Interactive Media Programmers at USC, neither really imagined they would go on to create one of the most puzzling pie thieves in the history of video games, but with the recent release of The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, that's exactly what they've done. This somewhat short, 2D time-manipulation puzzle game mixes a very unique artistic style with a light-hearted story and presentation that is fun and engaging while simultaneously ominous and infuriating. Here's a filling slice of what Winterbottom's all about.

Not only does this game sound inviting, but entertaining and possibly addictive as well, based on the combination of graphics, soundtrack, game mechanics and light-heartedness as described in the article.

I suppose like any game, if you are a fan, or if you've never played the game before, then it's worth it. The Darkness 2 is worth a replay for sure, but I'd really like the original game to be added to the list. The Darkness was one of my favorite experiences last gen.

Chevalier2318d ago

Spec Ops was a pretty good game. May scoop that up cheap and play it again

XbladeTeddy2318d ago

Loved Spec Ops. Completed that 3 times. Had a brilliant narrative.

MadLad2318d ago

Re-install it on Steam for a quick run-through every year or so.

Still waiting for MGS HD Collection

Deep-throat2318d ago

Wait for something greater bro! MGS 1-4 remaster!

PUBG2318d ago

I would love to see MGS4 remastered. That game was another one of my top games from last gen.

TheColbertinator2318d ago

Yeah thats fine too. I just want Peace Walker on the X and/or Steam.

GamesMaster19822318d ago (Edited 2318d ago )

Sorry bro but no console ever will ever get to experience MGS4 apart for PS3. Yeah it’s a shame. All to do with how hard it was to make for the PS3 console, and is impossible to replicate apart from say remaking it from scratch

iNcRiMiNaTi2318d ago

That and Zoe HD collection would be cool too

Pantz2318d ago

YESS always wanted to get around to playing Darkness 2 and Spec Ops. Thanks Xbox!

Darkwatchman2318d ago

I hope Spec-Ops: The Line gets the 4K enhancement like some of the backwards compatible titles have. I love that game.

Profchaos2318d ago

I'd love to see midnight club LA and max Payne 3 get the BC treatment

Xbox 360 25-in-25: The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom

BT writes: We have covered a lot of XBLA gems over the course of our Xbox 360 25-in-25. Games like Braid and Limbo made Microsoft’s seventh generation home console the ultimate destination for indie games–especially puzzle platformers–for a number of years. Many of these titles eventually ended up on Steam and the PSN, but almost all of them started off as exclusives. A fair few of these projects flourished because of the direct support of Microsoft, whether through financial arrangements or just the availability of the XNA tool-set. The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is a strange and wonderful exception.
