WorthPlaying writes: "GSC's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is something of a work in progress. Its challenges have swung between satisfying hardcore survivalists and trying to entice newcomers to its world. To anyone who tried upgrading from a starting pistol in the first game, Shadows of Chernobyl or survived the opening area of the prequel, Clear Sky, you know what I'm talking about. With the third game, Call of Pripyat, GSC may have found a middle ground that still has that irradiated touch while easing in new players from outside of its fan base."

Popularized by Doom in 1993 and still making video game haters gnash their teeth today, first-person shooter games are the best thing to happen to gamers since pizza rolls. So here are 15 underrated first-person shooter games you may have missed.
Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.
Lol
All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.
XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games
I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

I never even heard of this game until I saw this review.
I think this series is very under-rated and under-appreciated. It's much better than most reviewers are willing to give it. Sure it has bugs, but the rest of the rich gameplay features make up for it.
And also, let's keep in mind that this is done by a small indie developer, probably with limited budget. And since it's a PC exclusive and not as popular as many multiplat games, there might not be big profits for them.
I admire GSC for sticking with the PC through thick and thin. They have my utmost respect, unlike some other sellouts I happen to know. *cough*Crytek*cough*
@ Bob - An 8800 GTS did that? WOW. It's better optimized than I thought.
