THQ releases 90-minute demo for Darksiders on February 25

THQ has revealed that a 90-minute demo for Darksiders will be released on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network on 25th February.

The demo contains the entire first dungeon encounter from the game, the sprawling Twilight Cathedral. This level contains dozens of puzzles for players to solve, new pieces of equipment to discover and boss battles against the monstrous demon Jailer and the savage bat-winged Tiamat.

Haven't finished the game but I am/was enjoying it. They should have done this before the game was released. The majority of gaming consumers don't spend as much time on gaming sites, blogs and forums and depend on demos and word of mouth to decide of a $60 investment, especially in a new IP.

man, I thought this game was just all right. War looked like a high level avatar from World of Warcraft, he wasn't that interesting, and the combat was just the same 3-4 moves. Again, maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I started off on normal. The ending was very badass though, I'll give it that!

Definately a keeper for me. I am enjoying the game so much, im more than half way through and it seems like quite a big game! Its really a very good underrated game. Its a game that just keeps getting better and better the more you progress. Do not go by the first hour of the game as its pretty much like a practice level of whats to come.

This may sound crazy to you but this 90-minute demo being released has just inspired me to buy the full game! :)

In fact, I'm trading in Mass Effect 2 for it as I've completed & "done" game now, Nothing to do on it... :(

This is exactly what Darksiders needed, anything short of the complete first chapter wouldn't have given players a fair look at the game. I'm sure by the end of the demo you will have decided whether you want to continue the game or not.

That's nice and all but the game is already out. Hello. Demo after the game is released defeats the purpose of getting people interested in the game

The demo is more likely meant for helping players that are on the fence about the title decide wether or not to make a full purchase. I believe the game is already discounted on top of that if you look at some video game retailers.

Reviews and general feedback of the game list it as "mediocre" which says to me that 50% of gamers will enjoy it and the other half will be disappointed. THQ wants it so that all those that may enjoy it actually make a purchase. This rather large demo will make sure that you will indeed make your decision if it's right for you. Better some sales than none.
