There are things about The Darkness that will have you gurning with frothing appreciation and leave you in no doubt that Starbreeze is among the most talented developers in the world. Its ability to consistently inject new life into a resolutely tired genre shouldn't be underestimated. Just as Starbreeze managed with The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, the pacing's exquisite in that the game twists and turns in new directions just when it's required.
The CEO of Nightdive Studios has said in a tweet that the game is currently on the list for a modern update.
Oh I'm sold already, Nightdive does really solid remasters, and to this day I still love the darkness
Excellent news. The Darkness is one of my all-time favorite games and the sequel is great too. I've just recently had a great time replaying them on my PS3. Unfortunately it's kinda hard to recommend them these days, because they're stuck on PS3 and 360 so a remaster would certainly be appreciated. Nightdive has been killing it lately.
Awesome, I loved The Darkness made by Starbreeze who a lot them are now developers at Machine Games . Yes , again thank you Nightdive !
Excellent games.
Recently ran through The Darkness 2 on PS3 again.
I hated the switch in style when it first came out but they're both amazing games.
Popularized by Doom in 1993 and still making video game haters gnash their teeth today, first-person shooter games are the best thing to happen to gamers since pizza rolls. So here are 15 underrated first-person shooter games you may have missed.
Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.
Lol
All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.
XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games
I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games
From Metal Gear Solid 4 and Lost Odyssey to The Darkness and moreMarc Morrison counts down the top 8 games that need a modern port.
That is unfair. First I thought 1UP is giving it too much but after buying the game hours ago, I now believe its much more than 9. 8 is a it too low for this game. Its a kool as hell, follows Riddick's quality standards and has TV shows and movies + Multiplayer!
going to skip this game.
I agree with you MK_Red, Eurogamer can sometime be overly harsh on some of their reviews. Another good exemple is their review of RE4 for the Wii, they gave it only 7/10 while all others gave it 8, 9 and above. So as a result, Eurogamers' reviews have lost some of their relevance for me.
MOre bad news for Darkness, Gamer TV also gave it 8 (4 from 5):

I havent seen other review from them before. Waiting for Gamespot, IGN and GT reviews.
It looks like a good game. I'm going to get it no matter what the reviews say because I'm itching for a new FPS for my 360.
