"In any case, all publicity is good publicity, and Heavy Rain is probably getting much more exposure than anyone expected. Good move Sony!"

Could'nt agree more, good job Sony!

omni_atlas5214d ago

haha...everytime I see Lindsay Lohan I think of my friend who went to high school with a guy who made out with Lindsay Lohan. That guy is no other then the dude in all the apple ads.

gaffyh5214d ago

Which dude in the apple ads? Isn't that the fat guy or am I thinking of the PC ads?

socomnick5214d ago

He's talking about that twink the annoying idiot in Die hard 4.

The weakling apple geek who takes it in the pooper.

bjornbear5214d ago

last person i'd imagine in an HR release ir Lindsey Lohan

she makes more sense in a Halo release or smt xD but still! great for sony! =D

@ socom

i think you are suffering from projection =(

N4Flamers5214d ago

what vin diesel wasnt available?

what the hell does she have to do with this. I like this game. They should have had a real actor there, she might give people the impression that the acting in the game is on par with hers.

but yep how about getting some tv ads over here in the u.s. I still havent seen one.

omni_atlas5214d ago

Long was actually pretty funny in Zack and Miri make a porno

WildArmed5213d ago

They might as well get britney spears >.>

Oh well, any publicity is good publicity.

Persistantthug5213d ago

A serious console game that doesn't have to have aliens, or unrealistic massacres ( ala: GTA), that tells an adult and mature story. I've been awaiting a game like this for years.

So while the devs. have been espousing and promoting these gameplay and storytelling elements,

The first "commercially" promotional thing they do is, PULL OUT THE LINDSAY LOHAN CARD?

I have only 1 thing to say about this......

WTF.

nycredude5213d ago (Edited 5213d ago )

Wow. A lot of lindsey Lohan hate in here. SAy what you will about her I'd still rip that up! I could care less if she was on coke, crack, heroin, weed, ectasy, chocolate, or whatever I'd hit that in a second, with two condoms of course.

And wtf is people who thinks you need a good "role model' to launch a game?

Edit: I just noticed I lost a bubble sometimes between two nights ago and today. I wonder whose feelings I hurt.

darthv725213d ago

After all, the fbi guy sort of looks like him.

Coincidence...I think not.

acedoh5213d ago

Is this a big deal if a quasi celebrity is at a premiere party. When movies have premieres they are full of celebrities. It really isn't a big deal. Gaming is becoming more mainstream and celebrities of all kinds are gamers also. So it shouldn't be a big deal if someone like Lohan makes an appearance. Maybe she knew by making an appearance there she would get more publicity. Makes sense because she was the only name at that party. What better way to stand out...

shadow27975213d ago

It's not like they brought her up on stage, guys, she was just seen leaving the event.

Maybe, you know, she's actually interested in the game?

Lykon5213d ago

look at my avatar it's ethans cute masculine fbi arse .... mmmm dunno who lindsay lohan is. another hedonistic b list actress from the look of it. i hope we can make ethan drop the soap in the shower, and no it's not the reason i bought the game but it's a nice bonus.

BISHOP-BRASIL5213d ago

It wouldn't be the first time I'm wrong but... I believed gamers aren't the kind of people that buy 'celebrity attached' products. Specially so mainstream celebrities.

Maybe is just my impression around here, since gaming is still pretty 'up-popular' in Brazil... But still, I don't see most gamers caring for Lindsay in HR or Leona in FFXIII.

ALFAxD_CENTAURO5213d ago

I don't think Sony was involved to invite Lindsay, I mean, why her? Very random.

I think She was interested in The Electric Cinema in London or something.

Cletus5213d ago

Why she got powdr surga on her nose?

Corrwin5214d ago

Full of dark, seedy environments and sleazy characters?

BeaArthur5214d ago

Lindsey Lohan? Are they also giving out free Heroin?

WhittO5214d ago

hahaha!

Ye it seems a bit random to have her launch it, but publicity...

BeaArthur5214d ago

Well from what I understand she is almost completely out of money. I get why she's there from her end, but I don't know why Sony wanted her there.

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

BLAKHOODe1288d ago

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

sourOG1288d ago

No. Some games are like movies.

medman1288d ago (Edited 1288d ago )

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.

Have you played Detroit? While it’s my personal favorite, I fully understand many preferring Heavy Rain more. I’m glad you enjoyed Heavy Rain too.

bouzebbal1445d ago

def. one of my top 3 best experiences on PS3

ClayRules20121445d ago

bouzebbal

That’s awesome to hear! What’re the other 2 best experiences?

akaFullMetal1445d ago

Great game, need to get started on Detroit soon.

ClayRules20121445d ago

Glad you enjoyed the game! Yes, Detroit is a masterpiece of a game, and their best work to date “in my opinion”

ClayRules20121445d ago

Wow, 10 years...and yet, still one of the best/most emotional/thrilling gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

So grateful to Sony for believing in Quantic Dream’s vision for this game, and giving them a chance. I’ll never forget David Cage saying “We want to challenge the player, but not with the controller, but mentally, with their decisions of “How far would you go to save someone you love” Well, they broke my emotional gamer heart lol.

My teenage son refuses to play this game, because I’ve told him in little detail the emotional impact it had on me all those years ago. Maybe one day he will.

Z5011445d ago

Still have my origami crane they teach you how to make when you're installing for the first time.

C-H-E-F1445d ago

it's been 10 years? wow, that was so fast, I feel like this console gen went fast as well although it hasn't. I really look forward to the PS5 this holiday season though.
