Official Nintendo Magazine's Zelda Timeline

News of the timeline found in Official Nintendo Magazine's march issue for Zelda hit the net a few days back, but no one seemed to know what the timeline was, or what they had to say about it. Today that is fixed, as Zelda Informer got their hands on a copy of the magazine and provided everyone some copies of the article in question.

I personally think that Nintendo doesn't even know or give a f!ck, and just doesn't have a set chronology.
What I find plausible though is that the timeline split in two after Oot because it's the only game with time travel

the Book of Mudora can be found online. It pieces together the timeline of Zelda pretty well for the most part. But since the blood line is 100 years apart and there are a bajillion zelda's, as we can see with the latest in the series, link is moving into the future. I honestly see a more modern day to futuristic setting in the next few years. I assume Spirit Tracks is 1800s, so maybe we will see a steampunked industrial revolution zelda next, followed by a modern day, and then a futuristic. Of course many have wanted more time inspired zeldas, maybe more diverse than two ages, like possibly how chrono trigger spanned nearly 10 timespaces.

The Zelda timeline is a myth, I have met a few peopletry and piece it together, but it brought them to the depths of darkness, and they have never come back.

anyone who tries to figure it all out is simply insane and has to much time on his hands.

I'm a huge Zelda fan and have my own ideas about this, but still...the article is "The 100% Unofficial Unconfirmed Zelda Timeline". Nintendo will never address this...

I personally find it funny. in 2015 if we get 5 more zelda games

there can be a degree in researching the correct timeline. haha i could see it now.

I remember reading an article a few years back that had Nintendo saying that there is NO timeline and that there never will be.

heroicjanitor5216d ago

I can't believe anyone actually thinks there is a timeline... Nintendo even said there wasn't. But if you want to try and find a way in which they might possibly be related, more power to you, just know that you'll never find the one true timeline as someone else will have their own.

It seems like the only one that has connections to the other games is Wind Waker.

roughly the game series goes as i can rememeber

link to the past
twilight princess
ocarina
majora(in the middle of ocarina but after the hero has one)
wind waker
phantom hourglass
zelda links awakening
zelda 1
zelda 2: links adventure
twilight princess
spirit tracks

i dont think nintendo really though it out to far, this isn't MGS you know.

This is pretty close to what I was thinking anyway. Neat

Zelda Replay: Majora's Mask

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Is Ocarina of Time as legendary as I remembered it? For the most part, yes. In spite of a handful of missteps — a few obtuse puzzles, some tedious backtracking, and a clunky stealth sequence — I don't believe the last 23 years have been unkind to it. Ocarina remains a brilliant example of the medium, a landmark game that shaped the future of its own franchise and 3D gaming in general. After more than two decades it retains its inventive dungeon design, challenging puzzles, dynamic combat, wistful storyline, unforgettable music, and empowering open-air freedom. I feel confident calling it one of the greatest games of the fifth generation, even if I'm no longer prepared to list it among the five best games ever made."

Pure unadulterated fun. They don't make them like this anymore...especially not the triple A industry.

Back when video rental was a thing, I rented out Majoria's Mask, I never finished it though. I did buy the 3DS version before the eshop shutdown, so maybe one day I'll finally play through the whole thing, it's amazing how well these games hold up though. I briefly played Ocarina of Time for a while and it was really fun.

Honestly I really changed my mind on Fi with the remaster because they didn't make her interrupt your gameplay every 5 seconds, that drastically changed my views on her

Inverno112d ago

Technically she's in ToTK but obviously can't take any other form than the sword she was made into. Also the companion feature has been done plenty of times in Zelda, I don't think it'll add anything new. If anything should be brought back it should be the Minish.
