Sunsoft has today announced that Blaster Master: Overdrive will be available in North America on February 8th for WiiWare.
-- Blaster Master: Overdrive is an action-shooting game that takes place on an Earth infected by an aggressive, polymorphic virus. Poor, defenseless animals worldwide infected by the virus have been turned into flesh-eating, hemoglobin-swilling terrors. Fortunately, the world has Alex. And, even more coincidentally, he happens to be one of the world's foremost biologists - specializing in viral mutation profiles and genetic manipulation.

Being a hardcore gamer (especially one who grew up in the 80s and most of the 90s) means daydreaming about classic franchises that deserve a comeback. Most receive the sequel or reboot treatment, and some of them come out of nowhere. Games like Excitebike: World Rally and Contra ReBirth were expected, but Blaster Master Overdrive? Here are a handful of surprise games we never saw coming.

Oh, sunsoft where have you and the time gone? Too bad all the great dev's and publishers of the 80's and early 90's are gone and their IP are being whored around town.
If its anything like part 1 then its a day one purchase.
This is a megaton. I'm surprised there's very little interest.

Anyway so now the Wiiware will have a new Castlevania, Contra, Gradius, Blaster Master, Megaman, Final Fantasy, Bomberman and Sonic!?(I know some of those are multiplatform but meh)
