Gamebosh | Drawn To Life: The Next Chapter Review

Next Chapter is an intriguing attempt to have a customisable platformer on the Wii, but it doesn't ever come close to the quality of the current generation of Mario games. Every time you're asked to design some new detail in the game it comes across as the poorer cousin of Little Big Planet. As you plod through the levels you find yourself wondering why you are playing the game, because the story keeps moving along in fits and bursts, and despite the Raposa being some of the cutest little villagers you will ever save, the lack of story starts you wondering why you should care. In fact it this lack of visible story progression that means that younger players will soon become disinterested with Next Chapter after the novelty of designing their own game elements has worn off. Quite simply Next Chapter does not have the charm of its DS predecessor.
