Tyler Treat: "The open PC beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 kicked off yesterday, and, of course, being the avid FPS gamer I am, I delved into it. I have played a little bit of the first Bad Company, but not substantially, making me a bit of a noob to the franchise spinoff. I've had time to play quite a bit of Bad Company 2's beta, and I can safely say I am impressed."
Cultured Vultures: In the spirit of preserving some kind of history of this industry, we’ve decided to list some of the best games that you just simply can’t get hold of digitally at the minute.
I just started playing Spec op. I've had it for years on steam and forgot about it. Such a good game.
Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.
Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.
wow...I have all of them except the Nintendo ones either in physical or digital version.
Also..Deadpool the Game is missing on that list.
Battlefield Bad Company 2, Dead Space 2, Crysis 3, and a handful other EA games have finally had their online services shut down.
I had no idea that Bad Company 2 was still running, and only now that I know, I want to jump on! 😥
BF1943 is the only online MP game that I was genuinely interested in. Been playing since launch 14 years ago. Hate that I couldn't put in as much time to play as I'd hoped for during the final week.
Dead Space 2...... I wasn't even aware that had multiplayer. Nevermind that it was apparently one of their best multiplayers!
Dead Space 2 multiplayer had been hanging on for years - I'd boot my PS3 up to see some familiar names in lobbies. This will definitely be missed!
EA: "As we close in on 15 years since the release of Battlefield 1943, and Bad Company™ 1 & 2, we are announcing that their journey is coming to an end."
This reminds me... I have ME on my PS3 hdd. Never really played it, but it was free.
On PC I don't think it's much of a problem but I'm sad to see BF43 being shut down. I haven't played it in a while since it's stuck on PS3, but i preferred it way more over BF3. It was the lack of invisible barriers which made it better for me.
Does anyone play the last BF anymore? I searched crossplay servers and it was 20 people the most on all the servers? Can never find a game
I agree about the squads, for some reason people just don't see the benefits.
Whereas when I'm in a squad I get assists for pointing out enemies who are killed by squad members, a HELL of a lot of points for healing squad members and giving them ammo.
its a more streamlined version on BF2 at the end of the day
been playing the beta....no real glitches so far other than framerate issues, i ran a benchmark in fraps, fps had a min of 13, avg of 52, and max of 97...usually stays between 40-50 fps....
running it on 1440x900, Vsync on, textures on high, the other two at medium, and 4xAA....
PC:
AMD Phenom X4 945 3.0Ghz
Sapphire ATI HD 5750
4GB OCZ DDR2-800
Menu layout is terrible, both in-game and at the menu.
Server filter is SLOOOW. Also cannot sort by name, latency, players, etc
Scrolling up on your weapons list will scroll DOWN on the weapon select hub. Same for Scrolling down, it goes up. Irreversible in mouse button layout unless you map it to actual keys.
Cannot toggle crouch.
Knife has an ungodly delay.
Health too high. / Bullet damage too low.
Health needs to be regenerative. Replace medic packs with self healing syringe (1 time use).
No health bar/value.
Spotting cool down is ridiculously long.
Spotting distance is shorter.
Drone issues with C4.
Overpowered heli / Underpowered ground AA
Slow sensitivity when in vehicles, like I have to vigorously rape my mouse to get a few inches of movement.
Lag when driving vehicles, random explosion very much imminent.
Exploding boxes and barrels are all over the place. I know Destruction 2.0 is orgasmic, but really? IF you randomly rocket a building, your blowing up the wall, and whatever red box is in there.
And tons more... honestly, I love the game so much. I bought the PS3 and PC version to play with all my friends, but when theres issues and complaints blatantly sticking out, without any acknowledgment, it really makes me think twice about my purchases.
