Deserves it, truly great game.

deadreckoning6665220d ago

Awesome. Good to see a great game sell well

LEGENDARY PELON5220d ago (Edited 5220d ago )

100,000 people online in its first 8 hours is pretty darn good!
Great Game indeed!

Makes me think about Halo 3, its 2+ years old,
and last Sat, about 350,000 people were online!
Really good numbers for such an old game!

I remember when this game came out, in its first 20 hours of release it had over 1 million people playing it online! AMAZING!!
Not even MW2 did these numbers! Expecting Halo Reach to do this numbers as well!

Well ME2 is pure quality!

Saaking5220d ago

Excellent, this is one of those games that deserves massive sales. I'm around 8 hours in and it truly is one of the most epic games I've every played. Bioware listened to it's fanbase and fixed nearly everything. I really can't say anything else except that's it's amazing. Definitely check it out.

N4G king5220d ago

OMG !!!!!!
IT DIDNT SELZ TEH 2 MILLION IN DAY 1
ITZ TEH FLOOOOOPZZZZZZ
IZ A FLOOOOOOOP

/S

FamilyGuy5220d ago

It's a single player only game right?

That's so invasive...

masterofpwnage5220d ago

yeah just like what 360 fanboys say is a flop if it doesnt reach 1 million in day one.
but yeah this game looks so dope.
i doubt it only sold 100000. probably more some people dont have online

Sarcasm5220d ago

I'm assuming 1 million on the first day. It deserves to outsell pieces of crap like Mayonetta and ODST, that's for sure.

gaffyh5220d ago

@FamilyGuy - Connecting to the Cerberus Network, you can download free dlc from day one, which is probably why they did it, so they can track how many people have the game.

EVILDEAD3605220d ago (Edited 5220d ago )

LOL @ throwing out a PC stat that is meaningless. You want PC stats look at WOW expansion numbers hours after they are released. Mass Effect 2 big numbers come from the 360. From what I've heard face to face is that Game Stop as a whole is really happy with the game's reception. Can't wait to see what the official numbers will be.

I'm going on record to say nothing in 2009 tops Mass Effect 2's immersive experience. (That includes Bioware's own Dragon Age)

You don't even need your 1st games character save. I'm averaging 5 - 6 hour sessions a day and HATE to peel myself off of the game when I do.

Life is good

I agree with you EvilDead. I have a hard time pulling myself away. I transfered my vanguard character over and WOW it's amazing. The game referenecs things i did from ME1. I love how much more ME2 engrosses you in the back stories of each character and race. Especially the Krogans. I won't go into detail as i don't want to spoil anything for you and others, but ME2 is truely a masterpiece. GOTY contender for sure. It will get RPG of the year.

Beast_Master5219d ago

What is wrong with me? I actually want an EA game to do well? Thanks Bobby Ko-Dik for turning me into an EA fanboy..

CWMR5219d ago

-The game is absolutely amazing. I agree with you guys that it can sometimes be hard to pull yourself away. I know it is still early in the year but I can't imagine anything engrossing me the way this game has. But who knows? All I know is that I am loving this game right now and if anything better comes out this year I am going to call it the best year in gaming ever.-

Pistolero5219d ago

Bioware are RPG gods...I have never played a more exciting RPG...they deserve all the sales they get.

AMAZING GAME.....IF YOU HAVE A 360 or a PC YOU NEED THIS GAME

mcgrawgamer5220d ago

more than likely it'll sell extremely well. Doubt most sales data will track gamers who purchased the game via steam or another means of digital distribution.

nygamer285220d ago

CONGRATS......I CANT WAIT FOR MY COPY TO COME IN FROM GAMEFLY

-MD-5220d ago

Lol I had it on #1 in my queue and they sent me brutal legend.

I'll just send infamous back and wait until it becomes available.

watch how bots gather around like c0ckroaches.

MerkinMax5220d ago

Too bad both of you seem to let emotions get in the way of enjoying a game.

N4G king5220d ago

sure it well sell
its a good game and the 360 fanboys didnt have a good game for ages

HAHAHAHAHAH

deadreckoning6665220d ago (Edited 5220d ago )

A great game is selling well...hows is this a bad thing? Even if you don't own a 360 this is good news for hardcore gamers because when awesome games sell well, MORE awesome games come along. If you don't agree with that, then you aren't a gamer. Period.

Btw: This industry laughs at fanboys and only fanboys take fanboys seriously. Fanboys fail to understand the concept that Sony and M$ are competing for your MONEY. Theres no reason to treat ANY videogame console(or company) as if it was ut first born child. ITS-A-PIECE-OF-TECHNOLOGY.

@S-Leonhart- LOL, u can't even fanboy right. The insecurity here is amazing! Answer me this, if ME2 is such a FLOP, why do you invest SOO much of your time here downplaying it?

N4G king5220d ago

"This industry laughs at fanboys and only fanboys take fanboys seriously."

sayes the XBOT

DelbertGrady5220d ago

100 000 online for an RPG that has no online multiplayer support is pretty much. If there where that many online imagine how many there were offline.

xaviertooth5220d ago

@dead666

it's uber FLOP because there's no 2million online on day 1. this is according to bot logic so why question him? ask mgr, bungie, shadowman, murder and mart.

taylork375220d ago

"hey look sales thread
watch how bots gather around like c0ckroaches. "

Its an Xbox game and you are the first to comment. Does that say something?

Go troll somewhere else.

rawd5220d ago

100,000 users. Thats like the total amount of Xbots that have actually slept with a real life female before. Fleshlight dont count

ChrisW5220d ago (Edited 5220d ago )

I love how the ones who will never play this because they don't have an adequate gaming PC or the [inadequate] Xbox360 bash this game.

Regardless of sales, it's a damn good game (especially for the PC). Get over it!

Oh, and show your immaturity and disagree with me!

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave39d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan39d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
