Microsoft Reveals Top Tier 2010 Line-Up for the Xbox 360

"A few hours ago a very interesting e-mail popped into the PlanetXbox360 news inbox; it's from Microsoft's PR company and it's touting the amazing lineup for 2010, available on the Xbox 360 video game system. Some the one's coming out soon excite me more than most (not all) of the big 3's exclusives. There are some high quality multis coming out. Either way, give me a good game......and I'm happy.

I guess if someone really cares about exclusive games though, then the PS3 would be the way to go for pure numbers most recently. But then again, someone may like the Wii or 360 exclusives better.

I'm not too keen on the lineup. I think if you're into the usual 360 exclusives, then this is a strong lineup.

- I'm on the fence about Alan Wake, but I'm like that with most new IPs. Can't wait til we start to see some additional gameplay videos.

- I'll never play another Fable game again. That's Molyneaux's fault with how he's handled the gameplay, though.

- Halo Reach hasn't shown anything that improves on the standard Halo FPS, so I'm hoping they really start shining the light on that info soon.

- Crackdown 2 is an exclusive to an at most average open world game.

- Got Mass Effect 2 pre-ordered... on Steam.

- Might get Splinter Cell... on Steam.

I really wish Microsoft would get a wider variety of first-party exclusives, though. I'm always looking for more action/adventure/rpg games and sure as heck would love to see something made specifically for the Xbox 360 from an in-house team make its way to our hands.

Edit: To those who are complaining about Multiplats... Sony lists them as well. It just doesn't shine as much because they've been pumping out exclusives, exclusives that tend to not sell as well as the multiplats with which they're listed.

The PS3 had a good year last year, but like many things PS3-related things become exaggerated and distorted the more times the story is told. It didn't blow the 360 away last year. If you took away even one game from the PS3's lineup last year there wouldn't have been much difference between the lineups.
This year though the 360 has a killer lineup and the PS3's is the one falling behind.

Multiplats are still games. The majority of the gaming purchasing public does not care if a game is exclusive or not, they just want it. This mainly applies to single console owners. If you only own one system, you only care about what games are playable on that system. It doesn't matter if they are exclusive or not. If some kid only owns a PS3 and is an Assassin's Creed fan, they will pick up the sequel not caring that it's available on other platforms. A game is a game. PERIOD.

The only exclusives on the PS3 for me that got use in 09 were Uncharted 2 and Infamous, both games completed in a couple of days and will never touch again, but don't get me wrong - both very awesome.

Once again the best games in 2010 are multi-plat ones, but I also can't wait for Reach, Crackdown 2 and Alan Wake on the 360, and GoW3 on the PS3. Fable seems abit rushed to me, and the 2nd underwhelmed. 2010 is a great year to own all gaming platforms :)

What I would ask you to do is keep listing the multiplats.
List them all.
Then find the apples-to-apples comparisons for each of them.

You will find, when you look at the WHOLE set of multiplats, most multiplats are simply better on the 360.

Not only that but even AAA 2010 multiplat titles, like Bayonetta, continue this trend to this very day.

Well, right now the comparative lists look pretty similar in length to me whether you own a PS3 or 360(and if you own bot, a Wii , a couple of handhelds and keep a good rig you're pl;in screwed this year)but Sony are only really listing what they have for the first half of the year plus whatever(like withNatal) ships with the motion controls. Are we seeimng Sony keep their cards closer for a change -I think so and believe that we'll see the likes of Resistance3 this year, syphin filter , Twisted Metal and one of Agent and TLG so I'm still thinking MS will have something big to announce come E3 other than Natal games.

Just look at these supposed Direct shots of Halo posted on the front page. There just the old screen grabs of a magazine page from the game Informer. They're washed out and grainy in a bad aspect ratio because some guy was either trying to rehash the Halo news or was trying to make Halo look bad. Then he was stupid enough to try to make them seem new and used EB Games logo as proof.

IDK about a rare game myself. The reason we haven't had a real 360 Perfect Dark, a Kameo sequel, new Conker is because MS keeps refusing to green light the started projects by the looks of it(PDZ was an Xbox game in all but a few added pixels and stank as well). Also it seems like they're pretty tied up with Natal stuff and seem, from the recent noises I've been hearing are really confident about their output for it.

Lord knows what it will be but I'm giving up on a KI3 anytime soon and think that Natal and retooling old games like they have with PD on XBLA is more on Rare's agenda these days, saly, and they did say PD XBLA was only the start as well-so expect updated versions of pretty much anything they released after leaving Ninty's side.

Maybe you did but I didn't use it so much as I'd have imagined I would as 2009 wasn't a vintage year by any means for the 360-if it's your only console or you prefer to play your multiplats on yours then, sure, there were lots of games but the really big excluisves weren't as good as they usually have been and look to be this year.

But, overall, you're right in that there were loads of games if you chose to play them on the 360-iof you play your jmultiplats on PS3, as I do because of the controller, then, again like myself, you could also have ended up only really playing Shadow Complex, ODST and Halo wars that actually released in 2009(would love to buy Forza3 but I can't bring myself to hand over money while Greenawalt acts that way-wouldn't get a PS3 til Sony driopped their attitude either as arrogance in the industry really gets on my tits as I just wouldn't put up with anything like it in real life-but that's for another topic, sorry about me!)while, for Sony it was quite a bumper year for the kind of games I really liked from them.

Whatever both my consoles look like being mightily busy this coming twelve months and, imho, the big thing won't just be affording the games but actuial;ly finding the time to play them long enough to do them justice! Sony's end of year ios currently blanbnk, as well, so I expect a good few exclusive announce,ments from them and, Natal aside, I also imagine there'll be a big shock to go along with Halo Reach and Fable3 on the 360 when MS do their show. There's even a wealth of Wii games i'm looking forwards to depending on which land in 2010(Metroid Other M, SMG2, NMH2-possible Zelda? Red Steel2 etc, etc),then there's the handheld s with a big choice again on both DS and PSP!

Add in a few PC games(depending of what comes out when and where else they land)and I'm going to be lost as to what to play firsyt, buy first or even consider first! Anyway, you don't HAVE to be knocking MS or the 360 to have played on it a little less last year but I cannot wait for SC:C, AW et al and cannot recall a more packed looking year in my whole time gaming, seriously!

Im sorry but out of all the AAA games sony is pumping out I can tell you right now GOD OF WAR III will rule them all. 360's lineup is weak if you ask me. SONY is starting to set a standard for future video games. 360 has yet to prove them selves in bringing something equal to quality as UNCHARTED 2 and 1. All i see is ps3 exclusives outdoing themselves while the 360 is struggling to catch up with sonys AAA titles from 2007. And uncharted 1 and 2 are only a couple of examples. See, this is why I dislike PS3 fanboys. They can never give credit where its due. Sony copied a ton of stuff from Microsoft this generation and all you come up with is some weak excuse like "well, somebody would have thought of it eventually". You're an idiot.

The same could be said about everything Sony has done too. "Oh, well
somebody would have done it eventually", you could say. Trophies are a straight rip off of Achievements and they are no better. I like Achievements better because I like being able to look at a gamerscore and know exactly what that person's score is. When you look at the trophies on the PS3 you just see the persons level, but that doesn't tell you exactly how many trophies they have got or how they compare to other people of that level, so then you have to separately count how many trophies.

In any case, they amount to almost the same exact thing, its just that trophies were copied from achievements.

The rest of your post is just more mindless blather. "PS3 exclusives only compete with themselves... nothing on the 360 looks as good as Uncharted 1...blah blah blah" Same old nonsense a lot of you ps3 fans spout off. For those wondering why list some multiplatform games here's why..First off Bioshock and Lost Planet started out on the Xbox360. So they just want to let fans know that it's coming back. And tho some exclusives look weak like(Lips and Game Room) I think they put it there for the casual gamer. Besides that MS does have some awesome exclusives coming out for the hardcore gamer as well and who knows what else will be mentioned at E3. I will get it to, I heard alot of good ideas they had for Fable 2 but they didn't even do most of them, plus the spells were pretty weak Vs the ones from the first game.

Pretty good list, but I still doubt fable 3 will make 2010. Yeah, it's on the list, but considering that fable 1 and 2 were delayed, I'll believe it when I see it. I hope it's right though.

To me it looks like MS only have bout 5 exclusives not comparing to SONY STRONG lineup for 2010 everything else is multi-platform. But that's only in my opinion anyway

I will respect Mass Effect and Halo (Although it's kids shooter to me)...the rest of those games are not blockbusters. Infact, the 2nd highest selling game on the 360 for 2010 will be Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Although PS3 has a ton of shooters (In fact, damn near more exclusive FPS than 360!), we don't live for them...so you find 2 or 3 shooters carring the "sales hammer" for the Trey. There are multiple PS3 exclusives selling between 1.5 to 4 million...each delivering a new benchmark for graphics and gameplay. I pitty the fool, for trying to compare Gears to Uncharted and Halo 3/ODST to technical, graphical, and A.I. Surpiority of Killzone 2.
